Re the Ice Cream it didnt surprise me when it came out. Yoko would sanction an imagine playing toenail clipper in the name of spreading the message and keeping Johns name out there. Lets face it without all this stuff John would be forgotten about within 3 1/2 seconds. Its not as if he made any telling and lasting contribution in and on society.

A meme is sort of like an Internet slang phrase.

That still doesn't really make sense but it's the best I can explain. It was kind of an obnoxious thing to post anyway. Sorry.

No need to apologise, im not up on the internet chat phrases.

It really grates on me that in the name of, sorry so-called bid for peace its ok to hock any piece of trash or reissue in Johns name under the guise of getting the message across. What on earth does John's version of Instant Karma being used to advertise a car have to do with anything apart from getting money? John's legacy is not in danger of fading at this moment in time which is one reason Yoko and Sean stated for doing it.

And the endless flogging of the same tracks over and over and over and over and over again, please STOP!! The world doesnt need another compilation with Imagine, Happy Xmas, Working Class Hero, Give Peace A Chance and all the others. Man how i dread Imagine's 40th anniversary next year with yet another damn re-issue more than likely in the works. Probably with just a few new things to keep the fan buying.

meanmistermustard, the main thing that annoys me about how John's music has been portrayed is in fact the overemphasis on some songs. Imagine in particular. Good song, maybe even a great song, but NOT the only song he ever wrote solo, which is almost how it seems due to the overblown coverage it gets. Since the album was released in September 1971, the forty-year anniversary has already come and gone, however, so I wouldn't worry there.

So it has, i am actually surprised. However it will just be the 43rd or 47 and a half year anniversary of when John first played the second note of the third verse on the 4th take. It doesnt matter. After the musical dustbin is shoved out in a year or so ("imagine clearing away all the rubbish in the world and in your material being, making the world a better place - and now you can do so with your own official Imagine bin which plays John Lennon's classic song every time it opens, only $24.99 and comes with a unique limited edition note from Yoko Ono") then we will get yet another reissue with new mix or remastered or even a remastered edition of a remix, or some other compilation.

You know you are a hardcore beatles fan when you are pulled into a shop because they have beatles merchandise in the window even tho you cant afford to buy it just to see what else they have. You even really consider buying it before being dragged out.

So there is Minime.

And certainly 1 beatle ep in the chart, maybe two as right at the bottom there are the words 'E.P) The' and the Beatles had a few ep's out at that time.

Considering that With The Beatles would have recently been released I Want To Hold Your Hand would definately have been in the charts so in the singles charts theres at least 1 beatles single, lp and ep. Not bad going.
