Probably not – for me they are all ex-Beatles; just because they changed drummer and name – for me that lot were just the final incarnation (well, at least for the purposes of this thread – it was getting a bit dull with just that 4).

Offline I don’t view them as Beatles (and definitely not ex-Beatles) at all. They were in a group called ‘the Quarrymen’, so how can you call them Beatles?

I noticed for the first time in the pic of Yoko, John and Paul at the Yellow Submarine premiere, some of Paul’s apple has been partially peeled. What’d they do, give everyone a commemorative Yellow Submarine peeler with each apple or did Paul carry around a Swiss Army knife for such an occasion?

It’s a sign he was dead. Peeled apples in some ancient cultures were rested beside the dead person as they were in rest before final incineration. The apples were than taken, cooked and eaten by the leaders of the people as a sign that the dead person(s) had been accepted into the next world.
