Hmm, the roll-back must have killed my post on Colin, otherwise we would have answered the question by now:

What was the question?

"Well, probably we'll sell less records, less people'll go to see the film, we'll write less songs, and we'll all die of failure" (John Lennon 8/64)

Colin wasn't a Beatle, he was in the Quarrymen but didn't any further than that. I must be missing something in all of this.a-hard-days-night-ringo-7

Probably not – for me they are all ex-Beatles; just because they changed drummer and name – for me that lot were just the final incarnation (well, at least for the purposes of this thread – it was getting a bit dull with just that 4).

Nice to see Len get a look-in :)

I don't view them as Beatles (and definitely not ex-Beatles) at all. They were in a group called 'the Quarrymen', so how can you call them Beatles?

''We're just knocked out. We heard about the sell out. You gotta get an album out, you owe it to the people. We're so happy we can hardly count.''

They are ex-Quarrymen, and if any are to be considered as fifth-Beatles, it would be Pete Shotton and Ivan Vaughan.

Ugh.  heartheartheart

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

That pic is enough to warm me up to melt all this ice we have all over everything outside today. No need for the big fan or a/c for me today.

Someone at Reddit made pic posts for all 4, some rare. Not that it'll help anyone come to a decision on this debate, but they're lovely to see:

John (a George one snuck in there)

Paul

George

Ringo

A group pic post from that person at Reddit.

I noticed for the first time in the pic of Yoko, John and Paul at the Yellow Submarine premiere, some of Paul's apple has been partially peeled. What'd they do, give everyone a commemorative Yellow Submarine peeler with each apple or did Paul carry around a Swiss Army knife for such an occasion? a-hard-days-night-george-10

Paul knows the answer to this question. He's looking at it.

He's so totally right…

…whatever the season of the year…

…or season of his life.

It's a sign he was dead. Peeled apples in some ancient cultures were rested beside the dead person as they were in rest before final incineration. The apples were than taken, cooked and eaten by the leaders of the people as a sign that the dead person(s) had been accepted into the next world.
