Yeah, I've never heard a Wings record that Linda's innocuous contribution definitively ruined. (Mind you, I've only heard "Cook of the House" once, so that could be one. And I'm willingly ignoring "Long-Haired Lady" since it's not Wings.)

I suppose this is getting somewhat off topic, but let's face it: Paul McCartney being Paul McCartney, he could have gotten any female singer in the world to put in his band. He could have gotten a female singer with a voice that was powerful, and/or a voice that was beautiful, and/or a voice filled with emotion, and/or a voice with extraordinary range, and/or a voice that would harmonize with his particularly well.

Well Revolver is definitely my favorite Beatlle album and I would have to choose a solo album "Double Fantasy" hands down.

Certainly in the beginning she wasnt any good on keyboards (i think she froze the first few times) but as time went on she improved and whilst not being amazing was certainly a decent player. She knew she wasnt great.

However Linda did sing some great songs eg Cook of the House, B-side to Sea Side, Seaside Woman, Oriental Nightfish, and her duet with Paul, I Am Your Singer, is a real highlight of Wild Life.

Give me Linda over Yoko any day.

I think linda only sang cook of the house on their final uk tour. She sang seaside woman on all but their two final tours. I wonder why she didn't sing a song solo on the world tour but maybe she did in some concerts

I've gotta say that the idea of expanding something that used to be a 3-record set sounds a bit excessive. (But hey, George did just that to "All Things Must Pass" in 2000 so why not, indeed?)

Wonder if Linda was allowed to perform "Cook Of The House" on that tour?

You'd have to look up Wings' 1976 setlists and compare to see what bonus tracks would be on "Wings Over America", if any. Personally, I would think that the old 3-record set was sufficient to cover their entire set!

I wish john would have done a real concert tour through the whole world. It said in a documentary called lennon nyc that one was planned in 1981 but unfortunately john died much too young

I'm really looking forward to the reissue-remastering of wings over america. All albums in the archive collection got bonus tracks. What bonus tracks do you think will wings over america get? Or won't it get any at all because it was originally a teiple album. Time will tell. Anyway I think what really makes tripping the live fantastic ...

The performance is on youtube and whilst Yoko is blindfold, holds up signs and is silent she does have a mic and occasionally 'sings' into it but there is no audible noise eminating from it. No idea if it was a statement, a remix for a later performance where she was mixed out, or just ...

It wasnt background singing, it was warbling and wailing at full pelt into a mic as John sang. Im one who would have been delighted and amused if Yoko had been standing at the mic and there was no sound. Might sound harsh but im a John fan not a Yoko one and therefore have no desire to hear her to any degree.

It may have been one of the Instant Karma takes on TOTP but there is a live song where Yoko had a mic and was using it but it either wasnt up high enough or not on at all ...
