Paul’s Elementary School notebook.  The one he used to write down their first songs in.

I’d like to see (hear) the most in-demand archival unreleased Beatles recordings made available for listening purposes. They could have booths with headphones where you could sit and listen to “Carnival Of Light ” or whatever.

One fan said she’d like “the” Hofner bass to be in a national museum (on a side note – and admittedly this has always confused me – I thought Paul had more than one Hofner bass? Someone with more knowledge can enlighten us, for sure).

What piece of Beatles memorabilia or history would you like to see made publicly accessible?

parlance

Sadly Paul did have two but one of them was stolen along with some other guitars from Abbey Road sometime in 1969, it was the one with two pickups right up at the neck. Hasn’t been heard of since.

I would like to see Paul’s Rickenbacker bass on display. It’s a left-handed 4001, probably the first ever made and some of the best basslines were written on it. And Paul’s psychedelic piano. And Ringos guitars (he has one of Johns and one of George’s, and they’re both from the early era eg She Loves You ).

Paul did, indeed, have two Hofner 500/1’s.

Pauls-Hofners.jpgImage Enlarger

The one on the left, with the two pickups, is his original, bought in Hamburg at Steinway & Sons sometime between April and June 1961. It was used until towards the end of 1963, when Hofner gave him an updated model – which he was first seen using on their 4 October 1963 appearance on Ready, Steady, Go! (the one on the right, with the single pickup). His original was relegated to back-up duties.

He also had it refurbished in 1964, which explains its slightly different appearance when in reappeared in 1968 in the Revolution  promo film. It’s last sighting was during the Twickenham sessions in January 1969.

It was probably stolen, apparently from Abbey Road , in the days between the end of the Twickenham sessions and the move to Savile Row, as he is back using the 1963 model at Savile Row. Along with Paul’s bass, George’s Gretsch Tennessean and second Rickenbacker 360-12 were stolen at the same time.

Love to see some of the clothes like the Sgt Pepper uniforms, the collarless suits, leather jackets from Hamburg, ski-wear from Help and the clothes from the Abbey Road photo session

The Beatles are English - They have influences from all over - but they are English

This will sound horribly nerdish but Beatles tape loops. With an interactive display so you can push a button and hear the loop going around and around.

The coat Paul wears during the ‘For You Blue ‘ promo when he walks into Apple, he looks magnificent.

I think they should have an annual cosplay convention and competition. People could dress up as the Beatles or their partners or staffers. Imagine a bunch of Sgt. Peppers types, it would look awesome.

And if you don’t know what cosplay is, that’s what Bing is for (Google, what the eff is Google??) a-hard-days-night-paul-11
