The odd one out was probably supposed to be John, because he wasn't very opinionated or larger-than life outside of The Beatles.

Consider, from the very beginning there was the concept of "the fifth Beatle". I know of no other group where people talked who was the outside person that completed the group. No one ever claimed to be the "sixth Rolling Stone" for example.

I don´t think they´re the best because people are still listening to them. In fact, for me, it´s the other way around. People are still listening to them because they are the best! Then again, maybe it´s the same thing. I always thought Getting Better and Hello Goodbye sounded the same. but I don't think they really do. They just have the same feelings or what.

Paul uses the same voice and range for each, and they have the same... bounce.

It's getting better all the time! You say goodbye!

(At least, I THINK it was the Schaffner book. But my memory can be faulty and I'd hate to blame the late Mr. Schaffner unjustly.)

Found this thru a 'beatles rewrites' google search

According to Lennon, Any Time At All was a rewrite of It Won’t Be Long. But although the chord progressions may have similarities, the two songs are not the same. (Other Beatles 'rewrites' supposedly include Yes It Is / This Boy, Paperback Writer / Day Tripper and Get Back / Lady Madonna.

 

Would never have thought Get Back was a rewrite of Lady Madonna.

Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand wasnt their choice, it was foisted upon them by the record executives who believed they wouldnt make it in Germany without a German record. On the day of recording George Martin had to round them up as they didnt arrive at the studio. (However i know you werent being serious)
