<p>I doubt Ringo would take offense, seeing as it's apparently the truth - he had the idea for the song on Peter Sellers' yacht in the sunny climes of Sardinia, when the ship's captain told him that octopi often find shiny or interesting bits of debris on the seabed and use them to make "gardens" in front of their caves. </p>
