Egroeg Evoli was referring to The Fab Faux when she said there were five guys. They don't care about looking/acting like the Beatles. They do a nice job of sounding like the Beatles. At least they did when I saw them. They sounded...well...Fab.

Just reading up on the Fab Faux now - I generally have approximately zero interest in Beatles cover bands - and am kinda surprised to find that they're led by Will Lee, whom I remember from the old David Letterman show band. Also it's interesting that they have apparently no interest in looking like the Beatles (obviously, considering that there's five of them) and more interest in sounding like them, even to the point of utilising horns & string players. Nice to see.

I saw the 'Faux' about a year and a half ago and was very impressed.

In March, I am going to see 'Rain' at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY with my wife along with my brother and his wife. I am very excited because from what I've read, they are a very tight act. Also, the Palace is the site of my very first concert (Cheap Trick) way back in the late 70's. Can't wait!

My dad took me to see a band doing Beatles covers way back in 1974 or 75 when I was about seven. Would've been my first concert - wish I'd been old enough to appreciate it properly. All I remember is that they did "She Loves You" and "Hard Day's Night", and made a spoken reference to the year 1964, which sounded strange to me since the earliest year I had any living memory of was 1971. Oh, and they wore goofy, ...

Well now I know why they're called the Fab FAUX. When I see a tribute band, I expect to see a band that actually try to be like the original band, not just play their songs. Musically they copied the Beatles songs very well, but they didn't really sing like them, you can tell they're American.

I managed to see them in Cardiff on Friday night, and I swear it was one of the best gigs ever. They're playing up a brilliant little market with their show. It's a shame they don't tour outside Skegness very often. I described it like this to my non-Beatle head mates: imagine for a moment that the one thing that reaches your soul in the purest, most complete sense is forever unattainable. And you know it. Always. Now ...
