Hello all!

The reason for the lack of new songs had to do with Apple and the Beatles ownership. Harmonix would never specifically comment on the situation, but did eventually make the reason known. In order to add songs they had to travel to Abbey Road Studios and get the master recordings. The Beatles are very protective of these and it is not an easy thing to do. All of the content they did release was already in development from before the game was released (which had the strict 9-9-09 deadline). Harmonix was willing but Apple had he final say on ...

I see your point with Revolution 9. But I want to play songs like One After 909, I'm Only Sleeping, the Something Demo from Anthology...

A good example of what I mean though would be in I Am the Walrus. They did parts of the music video and then they added weird visual effects. Why?

And it still would fit with the story mode because that's what they did, they showed the beginning in the studio, then it transitioned into the music video.

In story mode, each level is a new location, so having the music videos would only mess with the continuity of the game and would be daft. They were also making the game for anybody to enjoy. I bought The Beatles Rock Band right after Christmas that year, and I believe it was over 200 dollars. If they had put every Beatles song on the game (which, really, isn't even doable), it would have cost much more than that, and $200 is already a bit much, so I don't think they would have sold quite as many.

Hmm... Considering how intensely the peripheral music games burned and then burnt out, I find I still go back to it with my kids and my friends.

I thought the anime opening sequence was brilliant, it had a good selection of songs and difficulty and the animations were pretty fun.

There was a reason why but i forget, probably to not saturate the market. A problem they had when designing some of the songs videos was that there was no live performance or actually anything so they had to create the dreamscapes and phony concert appearances, not only the later years but also for many of the tracks from Rubber Soul and Eight Days A Week. Any anyway how do you play Revolution 9 on Rock Band - and who would want to?

Personally i love the videos we got and am delighted it was released as otherwise we would never have ...

Come on! That game wasn't all it could have been. It had so much potential sadly wasted!

First off, why did they stop adding songs!? There's so many Beatles songs! Why aren't they in there!?

Also, the animation. They did a pretty good job of capturing their facial characteristics, but the psychedelic gribble-garble made no sense to have. Why couldn't they animate the actual music video?

If it were up to me, I would have had animated versions of the music videos/live performances and all songs from the 2009 stereo box set, as well as some from LOVE and even some from Anthology.
