OK, so the back-story is clearly nuts, but the song clips are quite well done – mashups of the solo years. Have a listen.
Actually, the more I listen to this, I think I might prefer it to a lot of The Beatles' solo stuff. A lot of care and attention's clearly gone into it, which is more than can be said about McCartney II or Mind Games

OfflineThat is the most bizarre thing I have ever read- clearly fake and preposterous.
The mashups are indeed well-done, but I mean,
I could have made them if I had the knowledge and equipment. Anyways, I believe if the "tape" had been put on the computer, the quality would be no where near what it is. It's crisp and clear, and such a "tape" you prodice a fuzzier, vintage sound.
Nutty, but interesting, thank you Joe! Fun to listen to, I may have to download the entire "Everyday Chemistry" album, haha.

Hi Alissa,
I agree the backstory is bizarre and fictitious. But at least it is imaginative and well written. Same thing for the mashups. But – no offense – I think it is true that "I could have made them if I had the knowledge and equipment." could be applied to a lot of things. I could have replaced my cabinets, if I had the knowledge and equipment. I could have cloned a sheep if I had the knowledge and equipment! Heehee.
As someone who does do audio editing and has played with mashups, etc, I think it is quite an accomplishment. The songs are well matched, the styles are distinctive, the rhythm and time changes are interesting and the concept is focused and excellently executed. Who is to say that if the Beatles had survived to 2009, that they wouldn't be making stuff like this? I think Paul's work in "the firemen" shows that he, at least, is interested in electronic music and the ongoing advances in studio technology.
Too bad so little attention is paid to the drumming. It sounds too mechanical on many of the cuts. But some tracks like "Anybody Else" are really incredible. I don't see this as too different than "Love." I will be listening to this a few more times.
Cheers!

OfflineI suppose I should have made myself clearer- I purely meant it as support to the absurdity of the backstory, ho ho ho, hee hee hee, ha ha ha! (As the Boys would so jovially chuckle)
I, a seventeen year old girl, would never have the patience, know-how or technical skill (or any incentive for that matter) of any kind to be able to pull off such mastery, but, I just provided that little side thought as just further evidence of the bizarre nature of it, but I suppose it was dreadfully apparent, wasn't it?
Not trying to be naive, just stating the dreadfully obvious, I suppose.
I'll have to take a listen to all of them; I only listened to the first one before heading off to work.
And nice to meet you, Mr. Starrdog, Ringo fan, yeh?

OfflineI listened to these remixes, and I agree with you Starrdog, it has a similar feel as Love.
The back-story definitely needs work. I stopped reading the twentieth time s/he wrote we wouldn't believe him/her. Now if s/he wanted to use an alternate history/reality, s/he should have gone with this one:

OfflineGod I have been waiting for someone with real technical skill to do this. I've only listened to two songs, and I have to say: well done! (the story is unnecessary and silly, and I fear may distract and detract from the actual accomplishment.)

OfflineHate to dig up an old thread, but I thought, since I was hunting down this link (my computer died – lost everything!), that the new members might want to check it out as well? Like Love, it gives you a feel for their work without overwhelming you.

OfflineHahaha! I've never seen this thread before, this is great! He's really put a lot of effort into that (clearly fake) story. (The idea that two planets could evolve almost identically is absurd.) I'm glad I found this, always up for new mash-ups, although I can't be bothered listening to the whole "album". Great find!
