Oh thanks – you're doing my promotional work for me!

This is a bit of an exclusive – I interviewed Ray last month on the phone and via email. There'd always been a bit of a question mark over whether he even existed, mainly because Alistair Taylor (Brian Epstein's assistant) claimed to have made the whole story up. So I was a bit skeptical at first, but it soon became apparent that his story stood up. I'm really grateful to Ray for being so helpful and generous with sharing his memories and photographs.

He had loads of other tales as well, which I couldn't fit into the interview, about how friends of his knew The Beatles and had received letters from Hamburg etc. I'm hoping to do something with these at a later date.

I don't get it, he owns the My Bonnie single and bought it from Brian Epstein? If this is the case, then you can get a hell of a lot of interviews, Joe.

And if you get the chance to talk with him again, let us know if he ever finds that record. I doubt that he would sell it, but it's easily worth more than John's john.

Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!

I'd imagine the original My Bonnie that he bought off Epstein would be worth tens of thousands. Ray doesn't know where it is though. Hopefully it'll come to light in the future, though of course there'd probably be no way of verifying whether it was actually the one.

Hey Joe – first off – awesome work getting a hold of Mr. Jones.

I have no idea if what I am about to say is valid – but it seems to me that Paul McCartney might interested in knowing and/or meeting this man. Paul seems to be the main caretaker of The Beatles' legacy and history – and he just might want to make a connection. Certifying how Brian Epstein first became interested in The Beatles seems to be an item Apple would want to document for itself.

No idea how to get that done other than by contacting Apple offices and or Macca's production company.

Anyway, just a thought.

I'm not sure whether McCartney or Apple would be interested, but if they want to get in touch they can. a-hard-days-night-ringo-13

I'm actually trying to take this a stage further, but I don't know if the plans will come off – they go beyond this website. If it works out I'll let you all know.
