The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill

What did you kill, Bungalow Bill?

"The children asked him if to kill was not a sin…" So, we may draw the conclusion that the children did ask a question, but John did not write it as a question. No tell-tale question mark appears, which would have made this a slam-dunk. So, I will have to submit this to the judges for a ruling, and I will abide by the decision. Judges, what say ye?

Drive My Car

Asked a girl what she wanted to be

She said "baby, can't you see"?

It's Only Love

Why should i feel the way i do?

Is it right that you and i should fight, every night?

Haven't I the right to make it up girl?

Baby's In Black

Oh! dear, what can i do?

Tell me, oh what can i do?

Oh, how long will it take, till she sees the mistake she has made?

He told us not to get overwhelmed by grief and whatever thoughts we have... to keep them happy, because any thoughts we have of him will travel to him wherever he is. (John Lennon - 27/8/67)

You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

How can I even try?

How could she say to me, "Love will find a way"?

You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)

You know my name, you know my number, what's up with you? (Ha!)

One day, a tape-op got a tape on backwards, he went to play it, and it was all "Neeeradno-undowarrroom" and it was "Wow! Sounds Indian!" -- Paul McCartney

The two lyrics sites I checked both have a question mark. Where did you see it without a question mark? We will get to the bottom of this to make a proper ruling. This is the Beatles Bible forum after all. We must maintain the highest level of truth and accuracy.

This thread isn't very long. Please take a moment to see if someone has already added the song and question you are thinking about before posting. Please. And thank you.

Lady Madonna

Who finds the money, when you pay the rent?

Did you think that money was heaven-sent?

There was no question mark after "Wonder how you manage to make ends meet." I wondered if there would be, and there wasn't.

Tell Me What You See

Don't you realise now, what you see is me?

Can You Take Me Back (aka the end bit of 'Cry Baby Cry')

Can you take me back where i came from?

Can you take me back?

Brother, can you take me back?

He told us not to get overwhelmed by grief and whatever thoughts we have... to keep them happy, because any thoughts we have of him will travel to him wherever he is. (John Lennon - 27/8/67)

Long, Long, Long

How could I ever have lost you?

How can I ever misplace you?

Ask Me Why

Um… er… nothing. Amazingly, in a song titled "Ask Me Why," nobody asks anybody anything! Not one single question is queried. And I-I-I-I wanna know… Why not?

And, conversely, "Tell Me Why" has one!

Honey Pie
-Will the wind that blew her boat
Across the sea
Kindly send her sailing back to me?

She Came In Through The Bathroom Window

-Didn’t anybody tell her?
-Didn’t anybody see?

Come And Get It

-Did I hear you say that there must be a catch?
-Will you walk away from a fool and his money?

I Call Your Name
-Was I to blame for being unfair?
-Don't you know I can't take it?

Savoy Truffle
-We all know Ob-La-Di-Bla-Da
But can you show me, where you are?

I Am The Walrus

… hmmm? … oh, well...I'll suggest it here.

After all, it was “co-created” by John and Shakespeare,

from King Lear (Act IV, Scene 6), lines 249–262

Oswald: Slave, thou hast slain me. Villain, take my purse.
If ever thou wilt thrive, bury my body,
And give the letters which thou find'st about me
To Edmund, Earl of Gloucester; seek him out
Upon the English party. O, untimely Death!
Edgar: I know thee well: a serviceable villain;
As duteous to the vices of thy mistress
As badness would desire.
Gloucester: WHAT, IS HE DEAD?
Edgar: Sit you down father, rest you.

I know when it's a dream.
