Just seen a TV show is being made about Cilla Black. I think Paul wrote her a couple of songs, STep Inside Love?
Here is the boy playing Paul McCartney .

I think in his first Picture he kind of looks like him but not so much in the others.

I wonder if its the same show that – oh he deleted his posts; someone started a thread asking about the key of Love of the Loved and the colour of the guitar pick Paul used at the Cavern. Anyone remember the persons username?
Would make sense if it was as the Beatles and Cilla hung around together down the Cavern.

I’ve heard on some stuff I’ve seen online that Cilla was a fellow performer and waitress at the Cavern. She said that she tried out for Brian Epstein with The Beatles as her backing band and that she did terribly because The Beatles performed a song that wasn’t “in her key” and she was awfully nervous. Now that I think about it, the song may have been Love of the Loved. I don’t remember all of this exactly, but I’m pretty sure this was how it was described in the video I watched.

Obviously Brian did sign Cilla to his artist stable along with a good few of the acts who also played in the Cavern at the same time as the Beatles and Paul wrote It’s For You for Cilla as well as Step Inside Love.

I’m not quite sure that there were specific times on record. If I remember correctly, the Beatles were often used as a backup band for when Cilla performed.

It was an account with the name Martha. Someone quoted part of the original post and thus we have the username of the OP preserved.

Offline Just read through this thread. @Ahhh Girl could this be made a “Cilla Black and The Beatles” thread (or the other way around) and moved to “Yesterday … and Today”? Just think it fits better, and avoids having “Ringo Starr /Cilla Black” or “John Lennon /Cilla Black” threads. (I know the upcoming series is rumoured to focus more on her relationship with Ringo than any other Beatle.)

Offline I watched Cilla’s show in the 70’s but at the time didn’t know Step Inside Love was a Paul song, it’s so Cilla. It was a great variety show too, I think it was the first time I saw Dusty Springfield and many other big names. It was often funny too, she had a great sense of humour.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 
but I may have to get more specific in the future.
