I was recently thinking about the fact that in 1963 they had stuff like "love, Love Me Do, you know i love you, i'll always be true" etc to "living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see, it's getting hard to be someone but it all works out" 1967 - 4 YEARS! What other bands/musicians have made such a leap in 4 YEARS?
Or even closer, in 1965 there was The Word, with "say the word and you'll be free, say the word and be like me, say the word i'm thinking of, have you heard the word is love?" and Think For Yourself, with "although your mind's opaque, try thinking more if just for your own sake, the future still looks good, and you've got time to rectify all the things that you should." And that was in 2 years! 2 YEARS!

So that got me thinking. Why was there such a great leap from songs with simple lyrics and melodies to ones more complicated? What if...they were sent here by some unknown force to save humanity? They were sent here to teach people that All You Need Is Love...crazy, huh?

A little bit crazy, yes. I have a friend who is obsessed believing that everything we have around us, everything we know is there sent by some unknown force. He believes that we're just puppets, playing someone else's game, and we're handed certain weapons at certain points in life and human evolution. The Beatles might have been just another weapon like that.

I don't believe in that. How I would explain to giant leaps, is that as the Beatles gained fame, achieved all they had wanted, they became more confident and moved on from the mainstream, popular music and went on to explore and discover new tunes, melodies, lyrics and eventually brought them to us. They didn't care to just please the fans with songs they would definitely like, but they asked from the fans to give the music they themselves liked a chance.

Um, not serious right? Like this is on level with Paul Is Dead. And that at least has some  (not really) reasonable evidenence.

Yep. We have documentation of births and also let's not lose sight of the fact that they were just a band. They have helped a lot of people (including me), but when it boils down, they're a rock and roll band. Also I'm an athiest, but let's not get in to the religious stuff.

Well, I never intended this to get a serious response. I only intended this as a sort of satirical theory based on the crazy ones like PID. Anyhoo, if people are expecting a serious explanation then I suppose I better give one.

It was one of those crazy 3 AM ideas. But I wasn't suggesting they were angels, or anything religious; I was thinking more of "starseeds" (and this might sound a bit too new agey for some people) - i.e., someone that existed on another planet.universe/dimension and is now using a human body to experience this reality. It might all sound complete nonsense to you, but then again, I do believe that the Queen is a lizard and we're living a giant hologram, so hey, anything goes.

Anyway, I found this site, and although it says The Beatles were Biblical angels, I disagree on that point. http://www.beatlesnumber9.com/angels.html

We are all beings from another dimension using a body to experience this reality. But I think The Beatles were used by a higher power to help usher in a new wave of spiritual consciousness. I think Elvis did the same to a lesser degree, even though as an individual he was stronger spiritually than any of the individual Beatles.

Man, you guys treat him like he's crazy. I obviously see your point, but it's just a theory based on the development of songs. It is an amazing development, I admit. However, there isn't really good evidence to support his hypothesis. That being said, you shouldn't look at it like he's been smoking drugs. That's just cruel.

By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.
