As far as i know the official release date was always going to be 1st June 1967, it just so happens that a number of places sold it early. Its a practice that still happens nowadays, stores get a new album in advance of the release date and sell it to their customers before that date.

As for the picture, as ITSWD said its a picture of the beatles playing in their Pepper costumes allbeit in November '67.

One point is that Pepper wasnt on Apple so why have "Apple Records release date"?

Actually, the song listing with the release date of May 26 probably IS the memorabilia piece that's being sold.

The pictures are just there to make the piece more visually attractive (unless they're signed). They're just reproductions of classic pictures.

It's common practice to frame a visually boring piece of memorabilia (letter, contract,...) with something attractive from that era. So even though the Hello Goodbye promo picture came after Sgt Pepper, it's still from that year - and the Beatles are after all wearing their Sgt Pepper outfits.

If the official release date was May 26th but got moved back a ...

I suspect whoever created the frame got it wrong. That's a still from the Hello, Goodbye promo, incidentally, which was filmed on 10 November 1967, way after Pepper was released.

The official release date was June 1st however some places were selling it before then as an early release (the date on your memorabilia is may 26th not march by the way). It happens occassionally with albums, singles etc.

And thru your post ive realised its Peppers 45th anniversary today.

I picked up this piece of memorabilia at a fair a year or so ago and just now noticed something. Today (June 1st) is the 45th anniversary of the UK release of sgt pepper (according to BEatles Bible and Wiki, which I am sure are both right) However on this memorabilia piece it says the release date is march 26th 1967. Does anyone know why there would be this type of misprint, or is it simply who ever made the memorabilia messed it up?
