Wow, that's amazing. I wonder what he thought of it all? I presume the redecoration is as close as possible to being authentic, but I'm sure there were little things they couldn't get right. I'd love to know Paul's reaction.

I wonder too if he paid a visit to 251 Menlove Avenue while he was there.

From my experience Liverpool is changing. Some for better, some for worse.

The better bit is that the museum is improving. I last went a long time ago but from what I've read of late there is much more there to see now and I'm looking forward to going back there some time. The National Trust purchases are of course the icing on the cake.

Regarding the 'worse' things that have happened is down to changing life I suppose. The hospital John was born at is no longer there; Ringo's birthplace is due for demolition (has that happened now?), Massey's music store ...

As a Liverpool native, can we get your thoughts on what places are worth going to, and which are best avoided? It'd be useful to have an insider's guide on where to go if a visitor has a day or two to spend in the city.

For example, is the Beatles museum in Albert Dock worthwhile? Are there any great pubs with history that a tourist should pop into? And are there places off the Beatle track that tend to be overlooked? I've been reading lately about the Casbah (the official site seems to be down but here's the

Im from Liverpool and its really nice to read all the positive comments on this site about the city and how much people enjoyed being there. I have been working in Brisbane Australia for six months and as lovely as it is, i can't wait to get home next month.

As a new member of this site (and probably the oldest!) I would like to say that my trip to Liverpool was the highlight of my life.
