My dad (who studied with Jeffrey Archer at Brasenose College, Oxford) was there with them on that day. That was March 5, 1964. Until about 2 years ago I had stationery from the college, signed by the Fab Four, and dated precisely the date I have mentioned. Wherher or not that photo has anything to do with it, no idea. Yes it was Brasenose College. The Beatles had played the Carfax Assembly Rooms in Oxford on 16 February 1963 (that venue no longer exists by the way).

The Pic was taken at oxford in 1963, Sorry, but thats all I remember. You mean the pic with the beatles putting money in the donation can? That was forth from top in your pic.

I've been trying to find out the exact date of the encounter between The Beatles and disgraced peer (then an undergraduate) Jeffrey Archer.

I've read that the pic was taken either at Brasenose College, Oxford, and backstage after a Liverpool show. The former seems more likely, but the two sources that claim it's Liverpool are the BBC and the Guardian - both normally fairly reliable.

Anyone know the truth? And if so, what was the precise date? I'd like to add it to the blog, but can't unless I know when it happened!
