OK Missy – I get enough spit takes from skye! Don't you start!
Besides, the topic title says "If you could change ONE thing about the Beatles, what would it be?" She didn't ask "if you could change ONE thing about mithveaen, what would it be?"
**God, I'm still laughing**
Perhaps you have drinking problem?

I've got a few changes in mind, but since the thread topic specifies ONE thing, I'll say that I wish the Beatles had left behind a decent document of those legendarily frenzied Hamburg sets.
That would be amazing.

OfflineThat Across the Universe would have really been properly done. The versions that are out there are beautiful because of their unique flaws, but still I wish that they would have done one really great version. I think the best one is the anthology version.
I agree about the Hamburg stuff, or maybe some videos of the Cavern other than that one.

But but…. George is a Beatle… and I… I….I'd be Mrs Harrison and not Patti Boyd.. and anyway he would have found the love of his life with a Mexican girl…*snif snif*

Offlineskye – I don't have a drinking problem. I sip my coffee, read a funny post from you or mithveaen and spit it out – no problem.
And, mithveaen, you go right ahead and jump into that imaginary bed with good ol' Mr. H. Who am I to pop the balloon of your dream?
There were a lot of great answers to this thread. It's amazing to see all the ways the the perfect little band could have been so much better - at least the circumstances anyway.
We Fab-o-philes aren't very demanding are we?

Meh, he didn't say anything about you. I think he was only talking about spit takes.
We mere mortals will simply have to try harder to impress the Almighty Zig.

OfflineAlmighty Zig?
I prefer Grand High Exalted Mystic Ruler, thank you very much (sorry Jackie!). Besides, folks at your tender ages should be aspiring to much loftier heights than just trying to impress me (you both do, BTW).
The spit take thing used to be an inside joke between skye and I. Then a few others joined in. I think it has run it's course anyway.

Good, it was getting a bit expensive! (Even at Savers.)
On topic: With all of the discussions about the women in John's life, am I the only one that wishes he was single for a couple of years? Or would that leave him without a muse?

OfflineHis best songs came from the situation of his family, be it Love (Julia, Good Night, Jealous Guy), Stories of affairs or whatever else. But he was somewhat single during the Lost Weekend though.

OfflineI don't know if John would have survived single. We all know how addicted to Yoko he was, and from reading Cynthia's biography he was the same way with her, at least in the beginning. I wish he would have maybe stayed with May Pang longer because she actually encouraged his relationship with Julian and it sounds like Yoko did just the opposite for a while.

Haha, I was waiting months for somebody to ask that! That's a lyric from the King Crimson song "Happy Family". It's from their 1970 Lizard album and it's an allegory about the breakup of the Beatles. (Jonah, Jude, Silas and Rufus!) Take a look at the album cover, top left corner:

Very interesting skye. As GniknuS said, he may have had a rough time being single – on a personal level. However, on a professional level, since some of his best stuff was based on raw emotion, imagine (sorry!) what kind of songs could have come from that type of angst.
