That Phil Spector wasn't the producer on Let It Be. Maybe if 
had done it, it wouldn't be such a disliked album.

That Across the Universe would have really been properly done. The versions that are out there are beautiful because of their unique flaws, but still I wish that they would have done one really great version. I think the best one is the anthology version.
I agree about the Hamburg stuff, or maybe some videos of the Cavern other than that one.

There were a lot of great answers to this thread. It's amazing to see all the ways the the perfect little band could have been so much better - at least the circumstances anyway.

I prefer Grand High Exalted Mystic Ruler, thank you very much (sorry Jackie!). Besides, folks at your tender ages should be aspiring to much loftier heights than just trying to impress me (you both do, BTW).
The spit take thing used to be an inside joke between skye and I. Then a few others joined in. I think it has run it's course anyway.

Good, it was getting a bit expensive! (Even at Savers.)
On topic: With all of the discussions about the women in John's life, am I the only one that wishes he was single for a couple of years? Or would that leave him without a muse?

His best songs came from the situation of his family, be it Love (Julia, Good Night, Jealous Guy), Stories of affairs or whatever else. But he was somewhat single during the Lost Weekend though.

I don't know if John would have survived single. We all know how addicted to Yoko he was, and from reading Cynthia's biography he was the same way with her, at least in the beginning. I wish he would have maybe stayed with May Pang longer because she actually encouraged his relationship with Julian and it sounds like Yoko did just the opposite for a while.

Very interesting skye. As GniknuS said, he may have had a rough time being single – on a personal level. However, on a professional level, since some of his best stuff was based on raw emotion, imagine (sorry!) what kind of songs could have come from that type of angst.
