There's no way I'd be personally satisfied with a single question and answer - it'd be a case of "one is too many, a million's not enough".

I think in the end, I'd hope I could ask him a question that might make HIM happy to have been asked, because of being about something rarely covered. Like maybe about his trumpet playing on "Only A Northern Song" or "I understand "You Know My Name" was your favourite Beatles session, what was that li
ke?"

I don't think so. There are thousands of questions about the technicalities and process of the music of his solo career I would like to ask him. For example, I've never read anything about how he constructs a new song, from start to finish, using a specific example like "Uncle Albert".

Or why did he think of using an African thumb piano barely audible near the closing of "Dear Friend"?

Or, what inspired him to sing "Mumbo" in pure scat? And did he just do the scat spontaneously, or did he work out the syllables methodically, ...

As long as you didnt ask "when are the beatles kids joining you and Paul/Ringo for a reunion" you'd be fine.

I'd like to ask Ringo 'what does he think is his best solo release and what was one was the most fun to make?'. I figure if i asked a non beatle question he might like me and not walk off shaking his head and cursing under his breath. Plus its not a question you see him get asked very often.

I wouldn't ask him anything about the Beatles or his music. I would be so nervous with whatever I asked, if I had to think about it I probably wouldn't make any sense, and would end up sounding stupid. I'd probably just ask him what makes him happiest, or what his favorite joke is. Something like that.

I'd probably ask about the Venus and Mars sessions that John was (allegedly?) planning to visit together with May Pang (in early 1975?) just before he got back together with Yoko, but didn't - just because I've been wondering what exactly happened there ever since I first read that story somewhere (not too long ago), and what exactly Paul knows/remembers about it.

Is this mentioned in any of the Paul biographies (none of which I've read), by the way?

It would be interesting to see if he thinks that he denied George of any help from him in the early years...I know George always thought that Paul wasn´t interested in helping him, just being helped...

Speaking of McCartney being just across the street, if you were having coffee with one of the Beatles and you could ask him (or have asked him) just one question, what would it be?

I'd be curious to know what song was even more successful than McCartney would have ever expected and what song was most disappointing.
