Halloween is approaching...  is anybody here planning on dressing up as anything Beatle related?  I have decided to go as Yoko.  yoko-ono_01  I was going to go as John and then my spouse was going to be Paul heart... but he'll be working that night so I'm just going to dress up for work.  I'm doing her wedding outfit.

The only problem is one of my co-workers will be following me around all day asking me to do the thing...  and I'm not doing that to people.  blue-meanie

LHL you are back! :D

The closest thing I have dressed Beatley was back in 2006 when I dressed like a hippy from the 60s. In past years I have dressed up, even when just passing out candy, but this year I plan to go watch Rocky Horror at a local casino.

Don't really celebrate Haloween. Never have done. Am I really missing out on something?

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 Yeah, lots of candy.

I haven't done anything for Halloween the past like four years.  I might go this year, but I don't even like candy, so i don't know.

One year for Halloween when I was a young teen, I put on one of my grandmother's wigs and one of her house dresses. I powdered my face to make it look a bit whiter, rolled some socks down around my ankles, and carried my grandfather's walking cane. One elderly lady came to the door and exclaimed, "You're too old to be trick-or-treating." She really took me for an old woman. She was surprised when I told her how old I was.

I would like a "Martha" costume. Ruff, ruff.

*waves back LHL*

Halloween

As a kid you get to dress up, scare people (possibly) or act silly, and get free candy; however, as an adult there is not much to do, but I love embracing the holiday anyways because I have always loved it and dark stuff.

I went trick or treating till I was 16 (the year I dressed like a hippy). I know way past the age I should have. The last year I went was at this downtown trick or treating in the next city and there were people older than me dressed up, trick or treating, so I didn't feel so bad. a-hard-days-night-george-10

That year I looked too old for even a 71-year old man. It was ghastly.

Paul makes 71 look good.

I found out one of my friends is having a Halloween party, so I will dress up as a zombie Eleanor Rigby. Thanks Ahhh Girl for the idea.

Yay! Glad I could help. Have fun. Do Eleanor (and Paul) proud. How are you going to do her face in a jar? That should be a conversation starter!

I haven't figured out yet how I am going to about the jar yet. I suppose I could get some goop and some fake eyeballs to put in a jar to carry around with me.

Perhaps you could have some small comedy/tragedy masks that fit in a little jar. Eleanor would be able to pull out the mask that fits the situation.

If you can't find any to buy, you could cut some out from a pattern and decorate them.

Halloween doesn't really get celebrated in the Netherlands. However, some pubs organize Halloween parties and 2 amusement parks in this country have special Halloween weeks, and one of them is situated in a little village, which always gets decorated too. It's fun. I believe there's no trick or treating anywhere though.

sky999, will you paste a few grains of rice onto your costume? I guess an alternate would be to get some of that netting (like you see at a wedding) and fill it with rice, tie a ribbon around it and then sew that onto the costume.
