note: meanmistermustard merged two threads together on the 23rd November 2014. Posts 1 -> 29 are from the first thread, originally titled ‘The Beatles got me through…’, and were added to what are now posts 30 -> 39.

Last summer, my last grandmother passed away from cancer.  I was such a wreck.  I just sat in my room and cried my eyes out.  The Beatles however got me back outside and pushed me through.  They really did give me the boost I needed to get back out and enjoy life. My family was ofcourse there, but they were mourning too.  So, have the Beatles ever gave you the strenghth to get you through something?

My dad died when I was 13, but I wasn't a Beatles fan yet. However, this year was the 8th anniversary of his death, and listening to The Beatles helped me think about him and cry for him. For some reason “Here Comes The Sun ” really made me cry a lot, as did listening to John's piano demos of “Real Life” and “I'm Stepping Out.”

I'm sorry for your loses guys.

For a while during my senior year in high school I was really stressed. Everyday to keep some sanity, I sang Let It Be . It just made me feel better. Let It Be has become the song that I listen to when I'm most stressed or upset.

Well we all shine on like the moon, the stars, and the sun.

Oh my, I am so sorry for you guys. 🙁

The Beatles pretty much got me through my insecurities, my fears, and some fights. After I became a Beatles fan, I have felt more strong and happier than I was before.  I am so happy I found them.

Let it Be helps me to get through when I feel so frustrated with my life (and that happens a lot).  I sing it out loud and makes me feel better. a-hard-days-night-paul-8

God , there are so many things The Beatles and their music has gotten me through. Whenever I was upset at someone or just plain depressed because of life listening to them made me feel that much better. Especially songs like Because that have that peaceful kind of vibe. They've helped me get through death's of a lot of people I've known. (In the past 3 years or so I've known so many people that have unfortunately passed on.) Just any problem I have, if I listen to the Beatles I feel at least 100 times better.

That reminds me of Casablanca, that great movie.

The Beatles helped my get through a terrible depressing time in my life.

Strawberry Fields Forever was the central of it all.

When I'm nervous backstage, I sing Beatles.

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

My dad passed away five years ago, and The Beatles really helped me through that. He also loved Beatles so it always made me feel much better just listening to them.

The Beatles have helped me get through life, I can’t imagine what it’s like to be one of those people who takes life so seriously, like Wall Street nutjobs who don’t care about anything other than money, or a celebrity or member of the royal family or something like that. How conceited do you have to be to be the Queen? ‘Yes young sire, I most certainly am better than you! Look at my crown, my lineage, my bank account! No one even has a clue how much I’m worth because you are all bloody peasants as far as I’m concerned!’
Anyway, the Beatles have just taught me to be myself and that I have limitless potential…we all do, it’s only ouselves who puts parameters on what we can accomplish individually and collectively.

I have to totally agree with you there.  My parents used to call me a “downer” or a “Loner” (Out of love of course heart).  The Beatles gave me such a peaceful more outlook on life.  I began to become more of a “hippie” like my mother.  I am so grateful for The Beatles.

The Beatles get me through my work day every day. This is not to minimze the thoughts of those in prior posts who lost loved ones. I'm just saying that I work in a sometimes stressful environment and the Beatles music, the Beatles Bible website and corresponding with you folks in the Forum help me get thought it relatively sane.

Thanks all.
