OfflineI am so far behind
I heard a while back that Disney was remaking it, but I never heard that they had pulled the plug on it.
In case you didn't know (in this case many of you knew), that Disney had announced a while back that they had agree to a re-make of Yellow Submarine and that production had begun.
Director Robert Zameckis is currently looking for a production studio who will agree to his idea for a re-make of the movie.
Oh well! At least we have the original!!!

OfflineHe won't get one. It always was a stupid idea, and Disney realised it wasn't the siderite money. I've never seen the original, but anyways, stupid is as stupid… wait, I'm cancelled?!?!? BOO!
*Okay, back to reality*
Disney was smart – for once.

OfflineIf you ever have time, you can find the original on Youtube. That's how I watched it.
I wouldn't have minded a remake especially if it was in 3D (the only time I would be willing to watch something in 3D). I have a couple of friends who would have been up to watching it while under the influence of something *cough* with me. It really would have been trippy. Wait this actually sounds like fun. Ahh man now I want to watch it

OfflineThis is actually pretty old news, I heard about the cancellation a long time ago when Zemeckis' movie "Mars Needs Moms" flopped majorly. In all honesty, I had been looking forward to it at first… but at the same time, I'm kind of terrified of how awful it might have turned out. Though I still have the urge to see 3D animated Beatles. That would be… odd, to say the least.
*Other note: I think they were only going to use cover songs in that movie, so that would have ruined it completely. I mean, if we can't have real live Beatles cracking jokes, we at the very least need real MUSIC.

OfflineI never figured out how the final scene where the real life beatles turned up was going to be remade; actors, paste on the '68 segment. Whatever they did it would be naff.
There was a rumour going around at one point that negotations were ongoing with Apple to get the actual beatle versions of the songs, that is before it was cancelled.
Anyway as Mr Sun said it was a stupid idea and i was glad it was binned at such an early stage.
What next - a remade A Hard days Night?

OfflineThank God. Hope he doesn't find another studio. When somebody mentioned this earlier I thought they were kidding. Yellow Submarine re-make?
