There is a show called “The Following” and I’ve started watching it for whatever reason. Last night, the main bad guy said that he would do something “With A Little Help From My Friends “. I immediately freaked out and tried to calm myself a bit, only to start yelling again when he looked at the good guy and said “that was a Beatles reference”. I had no idea when I started watching that there would be any Beatle references, but I’m really hoping that they have more…

New York Times today:
“Pakistan, Under Cultural Siege, Is Buoyed By Book Festivals”

“It was very exciting – the first time I’ve seen Beatlemania among literary groupies,” said William Dalrymple, a British historian.

Article on the tribute band I saw Monday:

Composed of members Luis Renteria (Ringo), Tyson Kelly (John), Benjamin Chadwick (Paul) and Robert Bielma (George), Britain’s Finest has been culled from the best Beatles tribute bands in the world, including The Fab Four, Backbeat, Imagine and Abbey Road , to name a few. They are managed by Music Zirconia, which is the equivalent of CAA or ICM for mainstream artists.

All of the members of the band are LA natives who have always loved the Beatles and their British ways. They have spent hours watching YouTube video interviews of the Beatles so that they can make the audience believe that they are watching the Beatles. In fact, Chadwick had to teach himself to play left-handed (since Paul was left-handed).

[*cough* He played “Blackbird ” right-handed, though. *cough*]

More at the source.

Edit: Someone posted the show on YouTube: Pt1 and Pt 2

Sgt Pepper was alright, but after that one I got disappointed. And ”George” is way too enthusiastic.

Tribute bands are just not for me I guess.

My cousin told me to guess what time she went to bed last night because I would be jealous, so I guessed One After 909 , and she gave me a weird look and said no. Turns out she went to bed at 8:45, I think I would have been a little more jealous if it was One After 909 a-hard-days-night-paul-11

So would I. :)

Speaking of One After 909 , I don’t know if I already said this somewhere, but my locker is number 910.

I was reading a book in class, and one sentence said something about something being helter-skelter. I tried really hard not to freak out in the middle of class, but apparently I wasn’t very successful, because a few people gave me strange looks. :)

During lunch break at work, I was reading Ian MacDonald’s book, and a coworker asked me what I was reading. He was duly impressed to see it was about The Beatles, and told me he’d read The Beatles A to Z and that he might have to check this one out too.

Last night me and my dude were having a “sneaky puff” outside our front door.  We ended up in a fairly deep conversation about dear old Johna-hard-days-night-john-1, and how horribly ironic fate it was that he was shot with a gun.  I had the Anthology playing through, and when we walked back in, it was on Vol. 3, disc 1, 2nd track..  Happiness Is A Warm Gun (demo)..  Then my dude walked down the hall and the broom fell on him out of nowhere..

.. hi John..  a-hard-days-night-john-3

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

I spotted a person wearing a Rubber Soul tee with designed with a Yellow Submarinish style. It was barely a second too, as I saw it on the telly. I guess I’ve got quick eyes when it comes to the Beatles. a-hard-days-night-john-1

I caught myself smiling like an idiot when they mentioned the Beatles somewhere on tv today. There was some show about 1973 on and at some point they said something about the Beatles, I can’t even remember what, and I just smiled like an idiot. And always when they mention them, my mom just gives me a meaningful look.

I was watching an episode of The Brady Bunch where Marcia was trying to get Davy Jones to perform at the prom, and somebody said something about getting The Beatles to perform. Like Linde, I smiled like an idiot.

Also, my sister brought home a color-by-number from school on Friday, and the sky was orange (who said color-by-numbers have to be realistic?). I got really excited and I shouted, “Oh my gosh, marmalade skies!” :)

Also, my Beatles playlist (on shuffle) just played You Like Me Too Much and then Tell Me What You See (TMWYS comes after YLMTM when it’s not on shuffle). Then, it played Strawberry Fields Forever and then Penny Lane (PL comes after SFF when it’s not on shuffle). Kinda weird…

So, I was taking a break from the board because of school work. Spring Break my ass, school. Anways..that was until I was watching Jimmy Fallon last night. He has a request box thing at the beginning of the show and someone pointed out that someone in the audience looked like George Harrison and Micheal Phelps.

Yes.

I fixed the picture on my original post so it can show up now. Unfortunately, they didn’t do full pictures of George and Micheal, so it looks kind of cut off.

gah. I’ve been having difficulty with it?

Is there a way to add photos from my computer or does it have to be from a site?

The radio station I listen to in the morning had a contest for tickets to an annual April Fool’s comedy benefit concert, and each caller had to guess the answer to a clue involving the word “fool.” One of answers was “The Fool On The Hill .” The guy who came up with the questions is a huge Beatles fan and often includes bits on Paul in his hourly showbiz news break.
