The Beatley moment was that I went to her house a few hours ago and while talking she said "Oh btw before having the surgery the doctor asked for some Beatles music.. and then I heard "sargent pepper lonely dadada…" and then the doctor said "Much better, now let's find out what the problem is.. and then I fell asleep… and then I woke up and they were still listening to the Beatles."I almost cried when my sister told me that. I felt as if the Beatles helped the doctor to perform the surgery successfully.
Edit : Ok that's…. kind of .. corny I guess.
So glad your sister is recovering nicely. On the bright side, that is an incredibly Beatley Moment. If I was "on the table", I would go under with a smile hearing the Fabs in the O.R.

OfflineI was at my best friend's softball game Friday night, and--due to a shortage of players--her coach asked me to be a substitute in the game. I was wearing one of my old #13 softball jerseys (I have an abundance of them since I'm always that number), but the coach said that I had to change into a different numbered jersey since one of his players had already claimed theirs of the same number. He had conveniently brought along two extra jerseys: a Medium and an XXL. He distractedly asked me what size I would be most comfortable playing in, mindlessly tossing me the Medium in mid-sentence. And guess what the jersey number was?! Number 9, Number 9, Number 9…and, with a new number, I hit a home run!
Tell me, folks: was it coincidence, or was it fate?! ![]()

Just kidding…although I was super stoked to coincidentally be stuck with #9!

I always hope to get a number 9 in everything. We have team based learning, and my group is number 10…so close!

Hey, Kedame, I think that would be an awesome example to put in the "You Know You're A Hardcore Beatles Fan When…" thread.
And I'm kind of the same way when it comes to numbers. I remember thinking, "Well--if I can't have my beloved #13, it had better be John's beloved #9!". And what do you know? Someone listened.
I'm pretty sure I looked like a kid on Christmas morning when that jersey was given to me: I know for a fact my face lit up with a stupidly huge grin when I realized what number I had…and then I kind of got flappy hands for a moment and did a mini celebratory jig… ![]()

OfflineYesterday, Zag and I were watching the USAF Thunderbirds as part of an air show that was going on in our area. There were six planes doing various stunts, mostly in groups of 3, 4 and individually. Near the end of the show, they all flew together in formation. At that point, someone near us shouted, "Look – they're all together now!"
We just looked at each other and answered "all together now."
I love how she gets me.![]()

OfflineJon Stewart, the brilliant comedian, was interviewing a NY Senator on his program Wednesday. He extended the interview on the web. After the jump, he and the (female) senator were talking about equality and such. Then, he breaks out into Ebony and Ivory. As much as I loathe to admit it, Jon does it better then Paul.

OfflineI catch myself using Beatles lyrics (and Mean Girls quotes, but that's another story) in my everyday conversations.
Also, my lucky number has been 27 from the time I was about 15 years and I just realized yesterday that 27 is a multiple of the number nine! Also, it was my NINEteenth birthday when my mom and dad gave my a birthday card with John on it…it's really cool to think about!

Haha! Me too! (Well, not the mean girls thing…)
I find myself quoting other movies, especially School of Rock and Elf, two hilarious films from two hilarious actors (Jack Black and Will Farrell).
It's pretty funny, the reactions I get, movies or Beatles lyrics!

OfflineA girl draw an infinite symbol on the board with my red marker and after long, and I mean long time of not listening to this song, I thought of it. I was feeling like cr*p that day, so when I played it after work I felt much better.
Although I'm a George girl, this song is what I am. ![]()

OfflineMy friends kept talking about this girl we were all supposed to meet up with named Julia (I think we all know where this story is headed). It's amazing how truly catchy that song is when your ears are being bombarded with its name… ![]()

OfflineI had another Beatley moment yesterday. I tutor for kids who don't have it as good, and they go to this after school center to get help with homework or to hang out. One girl said that she had a birthday soon and that it was October 9th. I said "oh, you have the same birthday as John Lennon!" and she asked me who John Lennon was. It made me pretty sad to know that she didn't know who he was, but I realized that nobody had told her about the Beatles at home.
So I said, "John Lennon was an awesome musician. Probably one of the best of all time!" and another girl said "Like Bach?" and I said "yeah, just a different type of music." ![]()

Anyway, I have my own. The other day, my dad and I were in the car, and we flip to the oldies station on the radio, and Breakfast with the Beatles is on!!
So my Dad and I sped through town that morning singing I Should've Known Better at the top of our lungs.
I love my Dad. ![]()
