OfflineI was listening to "She's Leaving Home" last night, and when the line "Fun is the one thing that money can't buy" came on, I actually shouted (aloud…oops!) "Nu~uh! Money can't buy me LOVE!" haha. Needless to say, my dad looked at me like I was a freak. But--hey--judging by my signature, do you really think I care? ![]()

OfflineDont know if anyone has ever seen or heard of it before but there is a Japanese film called Norwegian Wood which is described by Sky Tv Guide as "Tran Anh Hung's sensual drama about a man's memories, sparked by hearing a Beatles song, of his life and loves as a student in 1960's Toyko." No prices for guessing which Beatles song it would be. Its on Channel 4 in the UK at the moment – im not watching it, the name drew my attention.
The trailer on the films website is here and it has the actual Beatle performance which is a rarity surely since its usually covers.
(Edit: Link fixed after ITSWD's post)

OfflineMeanmistermustard, the link to the trailer takes me to the Rubber Soul page on this Forum.
In the meantime, this from today's New York Times:

It was originally a highly acclaimed novel by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami. I haven't seen the film but I read the novel and yes, the Beatles do feature heavily, amongst other pop music.

OfflineMy sister had a heart attack 2 weeks ago and yesterday she went in a surgery to find out why and today my sister was released from the hospital and she's doing just fine.
The Beatley moment was that I went to her house a few hours ago and while talking she said "Oh btw before having the surgery the doctor asked for some Beatles music.. and then I heard "sargent pepper lonely dadada…" and then the doctor said "Much better, now let's find out what the problem is.. and then I fell asleep… and then I woke up and they were still listening to the Beatles."
I almost cried when my sister told me that. I felt as if the Beatles helped the doctor to perform the surgery successfully. ![]()
Edit : Ok that's…. kind of .. corny I guess.

That's not corny at all! It's always comforting to have something to rely on, and the presence of the Beatles in this situation helped comfort you and your sister! There is nothing corny about that. I'm glad your sister is okay.

OfflineThe other day, I heard Michelle in the supermarket, and my nine-year-old brother turned to me and said, "This sounds like Christmas music."
He has still not been forgiven.
Oh, and I hope your sister is feeling better, Mith!

Michelle is a pretty happy song, but I always thought it was more of a Fall song. When I listen hear Michelle I think orange, though that could just be because Rubber Soul is orange.
I agree with you…but apparently my brother doesn't. ![]()
