OfflineThese are words that go together well said:
I was at the mall today and I was wearing a t-shirt with John and Paul on it when I go around the corner to see a woman wearing a Beatles shirt (most people in my area don't like the Beatles) and so I gave her a huge smile. She just grunted and gave me a dirty look. I dislike old people now.
Isn't it wrong to generalise all old people as mean just because one person gave you a dirty look? She probably thought you were some random giving you a massive smile for no reason and didn't get the connection from the shirts

OfflineI've had a couple of Beatley Moments lately.
1 – Every work day, I take a walk during my morning coffee break while listening to the Beatles on my iPod. We have a 1/2 mile walking track around our building that only requires crossing over the road only 2 times. That second time involves me walking through a zebra crosswalk, slowly, grinning from ear-to ear, imagining there are 3 others behind me.
2 – My wife and I recently went back home to attend the wedding of our Goddaughter. Upon entering the reception, there was a table that had place cards for all of the guests. The cards had only 2 items printed on it (in very elegant text) – the name of the guest(s) and their table number. Our card was very cool…

OfflineWow those Beatle moments are amazing!!!! and Zig I just wish I could go across the street walking slowly.. I have to do this …
My Beatle moment. Since I dressed up as Paul McCartney for Halloween ,everytime I arrive my boss starts "How do you sleep at night.?" and I reply "Too many people preaching practices.."
Zig's post reminded me of this:
I was playing Game Four of the John Lennon competition yesterday and found a way to cheat. My time for the whole round came in at 03.03.03 seconds. John would have been happy with that.
Mith – surely there's an I'm So Tired or I'm Only Sleeping response you could use? (Great costume btw)

Offlinea few hours ago, I had this conversation with a young student (he's 13) who's a very smart kid. A little punk with a good heart.
Student : "Teacher teacher guess what?'"
Me : "What?"
Student : "Our art teacher played us today some John Lennon's songs"
Me : "Really?? That's nice!!"
Student : "Yeah, he is a Beatle, right teacher?"
ME : "Yes, he WAS a Beatle"
Student : "Was? Is he dead? How come?"
Me: "He was killed by a man"
Student : "Why?"
Me : "Just because"
Student : "I don't get it. The guy killed him just because he wanted?"
Me : "Something like that. It's like if (and I mentioned his classmate sitting next to him) wanted to smack your head just because."
Student : "Wow. That sucks"
Me : "i know"
Student : "And is he the only Beatle dead?"
Me : "Well, no, George Harrison died too"
Student : "Killed too?"
Me : "No, well someone tried to kill him but his wife defended him. He died of cancer"
Student : "Wowwwwwww so he was stabbed and his wife defended him?? Coooool!"
Me : "Well, if you say"
Student : "and the other 2 Beatles?"
Me : "Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. They're alive. "
The classmate sitting next to him "Loser… don't you remember the teacher mentioned she went to see Pol Macarnei (that's his pronunciation) in Mexico City?"
Student : "Oh yes I remember now. But something I'm not very sure teacher… John Lennon left the Beatles and later he did music right?"
Me : "Yes, in few words, yeah that happened. Is the music he did after the Beatles the one the teacher played in your class?"
Student : "Yes. 3 songs, I don't remember their names though"
Me : "What do you think of his music?"
Student : (with a face glowing and opening his eyes) "It's VERY GOOD teacher."
Me : (with a huge smile on my face) "See? I told you, you're very smart. High five!"
And we high fived
That truly made my week.

OfflineI had a bizarre moment the other day.
I was looking for my iPod so that I could hook it up to my speakers and play Beatles music. The drawer I was looking in was filled with random books, mostly sci-fi ones. I picked up a sci-fi anthology from 1994 and flipped through some of the pages. One of the stories was enitled "The Twelfth Album", and I was in a musical mood so I started reading it. It was about an alternate universe where there was another Beatles album.
Of all the places to find them!!!

OfflineI was about to call the girl I am madly in love with when I pulled my phone out of my pocket only to see I have pocket dialed "#9" I told her and she didn't freak out as much as I did at first. Nobody found it as funny as I did. I also saw this girl the other day and I told her I had "Eleanor Rigby" stuck in my head. She said, "Ok. Who is that?" I almost cried but she's the kind of girl you want so bad it makes you sorry, still you don't regret a single day.

OfflineMy mom and I were driving to the store, listening to her iPod, which was plugged into the tape player. The song changed to "What You're Doing." When we got to the parking lot, we were stuck behind a car that JUST WOULD NOT MOVE. My mom started singing: "I've been waiting here for you." Me: "Wondering when you're gonna move." It was so funny!
(PS: When we got out of the store, that same car was still there!)
