Yesterday , a co-worker was showing us pics of her son’s first birthday party. The first few were of him from behind as he was watching a young lady playing an acoustic guitar. The proud Mom was telling us how much her boy loves music. The next pic was of him from the front…wearing a Beatles tee shirt. I think I scared the crap out of everyone when I shouted, “YES!!”.

When in Glasgow on Tuesday there was a shop advertising picture frames that you could use to hang your vinyl on the wall and turn it into some form of art. The album cover used in the poster was

The poster even had “The Beatles not included” at the bottom of its text.

This was shown on tonight’s (Oct. 12, 2014) episode of The Simpons called “Super Franchise Me” and in the beginning of the episode they show Ned Flanders opening up his circuit breaker box. One of the rooms’ switches is labeled BEATLES BUNKER. This is in reference to Ned’s Beatles room which is shown in the episode “The Bart of War” from May 18, 2003.

The only good thing about going to the hospital today was the car I parked next to.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Aww, thanks for asking Girl.  My wife has to have a little surgery.  The doctor says it’s an easy slice of Honey Pie , but then he’s on the handle end of the scalpel, isn’t he?a-hard-days-night-george-4

Take put the vocal, annoying drums, needless brass and you’ve got a decent cover.

Someone messaged me online saying something like “This might be my last night alive so let me see my first pair of boobs.” I sent them two pictures of Jeremy Hillary Boob from Yellow Submarine .

They never sent me any more messages after that.

My dad switched on the television and the first thing I saw was John’s face.

So it was this short documentary about David Hurn (though I’ve never heard of him before) Apparently he was a photographer on the set of A Hard Day’s Night . And they showed some pictures that I have never seen before! Which was pretty awesome.

Putting on this T shirt today from Sidney’s beach bar on the tiny island of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands.  For some reason, it made me think of Ringo.

During math we had to solve a word problem (hate those) and one was about a boy named Richard, who was selling rings…

A column called “Dear Prudence ” has made headlines this week with regards to trick-or-treaters.

The speaker in our on-campus workshop today gave out little toy animals to people who asked questions. He said that he was picking out an animal for us based on what we looked liked / reminded him of. I got a zebra.

Yes, THE zebra crossing!

I do not advertise websites or anything related whatsoever; but just about every single day, when I look through ‘non-headline’ articles on the yahoos’ homepage, there is a new and (mostly) very entertaining story and/or pictorial collection about Beatles history – kind of like ‘Daily Beatley Moments’. A lot of them, like retrospectives on singular songs like ‘Yesterday ‘ or ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds ‘, repeat facts us fans have known forever, but some provide some refreshing new insights and are very well-written.

Either way, every new media mention of The Beatles, to me, provides a comforting feeling that they are still fascinating us, and the generations following them, on a regular basis all these years later.

It could be that and this other phenomenon that happens with me very often. Whenever I discover something new or become fascinated by it, I start seeing it everywhere. Is it that our observational  skills become more attuned to our interests and hence we start noticing everything related to this new interest?
