One of the country music stations in Oklahoma City is adverising its upcoming birthday bash. The Beatles "Birthday" is the music they are using in the ad.

My 12 year old son had to pick a "poem" to study for his English class.  He chose "Let It Be" and tho it is a "song", the teacher is cool with it.  a-hard-days-night-john-1

@Sky999, You are so right. That's exactly what I was thinking while listening to the ad. And, might I add, I was quite chuffed when I realized that I recognized the song. I'm learning.

@HeyTrud, Cool for you teaching your offspring so well, cool for you kid to pick that poem/song, and cool for the teacher for accepting it. Wins all around!

I don't know, it's the go-to modern birthday song, and I could see it fitting in on a "country rock" station.

The Buffalo Sabres are running a thing on their twitter where you have to complete lyrics, and they've got a nice mix of current stuff and old stuff, including Imagine and Let It Be

I am one of the judges for a "Poetry Out Loud" contest tomorrow for this region of my state. As I was reading through the poems the students will present, I kept seeing references to Beatles songs. They. Were. Everywhere. I better go get some sleep. I need rest.

Another figure skating song, last night some lady skated to a cover of Imagine. It was a pretty crappy cover too

Liverpool beat Swansea 4-3 and they play I Feel Fine over the stadium tannoy.

What makes you say that? They're meant to be one of the best teams this country has.

And they currently are. The people of Liverpool have a very strong identity with their home football teams that either goes down the Liverpool or Everton route. I support neither but follow Everton a bit more as they have a recent history of Scottish managers and players.

All the liverpudlians I know are fierce and loyal Liverpool fans, and when they're winning a lot it's easy to understand why. I gave up following football when I realised that my home team is really, really bad.

A joke that I currently use whenever I hear somebody is a LFC fan:
What ship has never docked in Liverpool?
-The Premiership

But that could change this year and I will retract all comments made by me if they do succeed. All I know about football, I learned off Mrs. Doyle anyway
