I didn´t know ink wasn´t vegetarian. How come, do you know? What is in it?
There used to be "animal products" in the ink, from what the artists have told me. I got my first one in '99 and I had no idea back then. I learned a couple years ago when I went to a place that advertised "vegan ink". I asked my artist and he said that although they advertise it, most places do these days (use vegan ink). So hopefully I missed that generation.

No, I pretty much only ate mostaccioli (and that was pretty hard, because I like to drown my mostaccioli in cheese), and vegetables for two weeks, lol. I did try some vegan chicken nuggets, which didn't taste any different than real chicken nuggets, and that was so weird I couldn't eat them.

While I really admire vegans and vegetarians, I could never be either of them. I think it's great, but it would be too hard for me. Especially since I own a lot of leather and woolen clothes and jackets/coats an shoes. Like, how do you do it? What if, when you're shopping, you see a pair of shoes you just NEED and they're leather? You just don't buy them?
I really do not understand how vegans can maintain, BUT I admire them.

I've never wanted to buy anything bad enough to justify it. I was never a fan of leather or suede to begin with, so that definitely helps. Also I am cheap, and have been poor most of my life, so that helps! 
Fake stuff is always cheaper. I'm not a total snob about it when it comes to gifts. My in-laws always seem to get me something leather, and I will wear/use it to be polite.
Finding a warm winter jacket without down feathers is very hard though.

Yes, I would do this. If I was every lucky enough to get a close seat at his show, if, no when he comes back to Vancouver, I will make a sign and do this.

I agree. It looks awesome, but that would probably be tattoo I would regret or get made fun of.

Sorry, guys…like I ranted on one of the other tattoo threads (and I can't believe there've been THREE of them!), I just don't get it. I really think 91.4% of tattoos are just too prominent, garish and hideous. I can't think of any visual imagery I love so much I'd want to stare at it every day for the rest of my life without ever getting sick of it. I can't imagine how any such image wouldn't be more attractive on paper, canvas or the individual's face where it originated than on human flesh. And as for the procedure itself, I can barely tolerate being forced to sit still in a chair for half-an-hour to get a pain-free haircut!

Everyone is different, you don't need to understand why some people do it. If you don't want them, that's totally your choice! You are being borderline insulting to someone like me, who has gotten quite a few tattoos over the last 13 years, and I'm happy with what I have. They are part of who I am and I love them. I don't think about how I will feel about them when I'm older, because no matter how old I am, I'm still going to be me. I will still be passionate about the same things because I always have been. I'm also pretty sure I won't be prancing around when I'm 80 in a tube top and shorts anyway, so I'm not really worried about that.

I agree totally. I could understand if it was an offensive or tacky tattoo, but its tasteful then I think its ok. Thats me though and I know tattoos are not for everyone and thats ok. Before I got my tattoo, I loved the tasteful tattoos as art, but I couldn't see how anyone could sit through the pain. After going through it, I think it was worth it and Im glad its apart of me. I love art in general, my original major in college was art, so to me it doesn't matter if it on a canvas or someone's body as long as its tasteful. I dont find most facial piercing appealing; however, I would not make an entire rant about it because one of my good friends has them and he is still human.

I am always surprised at how well I take the pain. I think I just do it because I want it bad enough. I am a total wimp with most pain. The one before the last one I got took almost 3 hours, and it was very painful. Parts of it went into my armpit area.. *cringe* It hurts just talking about it! I just forget how it feels every time, and then when I go under the needle again my brain is like "right, this hurts…"

I hate needles, well shots especially when the doctors or nurses lie to me saying it won't hurt, but like you I was surprised how well I took it. My husband was sitting in the chair across from in case I needed to hold his hand, but I never did. Most of the time I was talking to the artist about The Beatles or cracking jokes with my husband and his friend. It hurt like a sunburn, which I fairly use to being fair skinned. I don't know if I could sit through 3 hour session especially if it involves filling in. Filling in to me hurt the worse of the process.

Yes the fill hurts. The three hour one was a cover-up. I got a stupid one years ago that was a really quick decision. BAD idea. I lived with it for about 7 years and finally covered it up last year. It was so worth it.

I kind of feel the same way, in that there is no image I would like enough to have on my body for the rest of my life. If I ever got a tattoo, I just know I would end up hating it. My mom's a nurse, so she deals with a lot of old people, and she says she has seen tattoos do some pretty weird stuff. My grandpa's eighty though, and his tattoos are a little faded, but other than that they look fine. He's not all wrinkly, though, so that's probably why. I don't think all tattoos look stupid, but it really annoys me when people have somebody else's name tattooed on them. I just don't understand it. Some girl I worked at a camp with had her own name tattoed on the back of her neck, and her birthday underneath it. That was probably the worst. Why do you need your own name tattooed on yourself? That wasn't so bad because you could only see it if she had her hair up, but ir's still there.
