To paraphrase Zig, I'm glad I'd just put my drink down when I read that.

Oh no. We have been pulled down into this basement-level thinking. How did we let them get to us? Who wants put put in a wager on the Peaceman v Robot showdown that parlance dreamed up? parlance will you please list the date and time of the impending match in this news thread? Wouldn't want anyone to miss it.

The forum will be the first ones to know. a-hard-days-night-george-10

x-posting from the BBC Vol. 2 thread since there's a matter of timeliness:

Via WogBlog, The Guardian is giving away 25 pairs of tickets to a panel on the importance of radio in breaking in The Beatles to be held at Abbey Road Studio Two on November 14.

We have 25 pairs of tickets to give away for The Beatles “On Air”: broadcasting, bands and breaking into the mainstream. If you'd like to attend, simply write in to tell us about your first memories of listening to the Beatles. We'll be awarding the tickets to the most engaging, original and thoughtful responses.

Winners will be announced on or after November 4, so there's not much time!

Gah, if only I had something interesting to say about my first memories....

Never mind, that day I'm going to be sat on my doorstep waiting for the postman to come with my 'Tune In' book :D

Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

If you want Emily I can give you some of my memories :) As a 4 year old listening to Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da in the car, you can always throw in a dramatic twist, to make it more interesting they didn't say it had to be true did they? a-hard-days-night-george-10

Sure why don't we just make up one, we've got a bunch of great writers here get mmm, Zig and mja to throw in a couple of jokes, have the Paulettes to squeal about how much of a babe Paul is (they're right you know a-hard-days-night-george-10 ) And the rest of us to glue the entire thing together...t'would be fun and then we'd all get into Abbey Road...yay!

I'll let you steal my story, Emily. I have dates and everything.

Or, if you don't want to swipe it word for word, feel free to use the parts you like.

It's not a bad idea, actually. I have an imagination, somewhere, so I might as well use it - especially if it'll get me into AR :D

I can't get over there that fast, but I would like to know if my story would get me in the door.
