Paul on NPR might be the first time I actually listen to that station.

Edit: It actually wasn't that bad of an interview. Not the greatest, but more than I expected from NPR.

That one's from All Things Considered, btw. This is the World Cafe interview.

x-posts on more recent and upcoming Paul interviews:

* meanmistermustard posted this elsewhere: A BBC video after the Covent Garden performance and Graham Norton.

* Absolute Radio interview

*Via The Examiner: Dave Marsh interviewed Paul for Sirius XM, and that will run tomorrow:

The interview features McCartney discussing writing and recording songs for the “NEW” album and reflecting on his days as a Beatle. The program will air at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on Sirius/XM's the Spectrum Channel 28.

Sorry, I typed in World Cafe and I assumed it was the one.

NP, it gave me an excuse to post the other interviews. :-D

Thanks for the GN clips! Didn't watch it on tv as it's an hour earlier in the UK than it's in Holland and I was soooo tired, but my parents watched it and said it was great. So I'm looking forward to watch it :D

BTW, Mja posted links to videos of the show in four parts.

Great, thanks, have watched all of it now! Poor Natalie and Chris. They didn't really get that much attention.

For anyone who wants to see it again in the UK, or didn't see it the first time, and for whatever reason can't get the iplayer, Paul's appearance on The Graham Norton show is repeated on BBC 1 this Monday evening (20th October) - times vary depending on where you are in the UK but not before 11:50pm.

According to Sky999, the Paul McCartney episode of Graham Norton will be shown on BBC America on Saturday 26 October. I have no idea of time or anything, but I'm sure someone will soon be posting it.

* US and Canadian fans can enter a contest to win a "New" prize pack here. Wouldn't mind having the buttons.

* Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star has lullabied a collection of songs by John. I not too proud to admit I own the Duran Duran collection, and it's quite lovely.

* Ringo is trying to ID the fans in this photo he took 49 years ago.

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that.

In all seriousness, they should have done "Bless You."

They could have deviated from the standard Lennon Greatest Hits. Seriously, do people know John sang more than the same pool of 20 songs that a selection of appear on his albums or are they just too lazy to think a little deeper.

Wogblog reports that On Air Volume 2 and the remastered Vol 1 (formerly Live At The BBC) will be on itunes with zero bonus material and are available to pre-order.

Very pleasing as i can buy the cd's and not have to download - and no 48 different variations of the release to puzzle everyone. Wait, you can get Live At The BBC Mastered for iTunes. Woo-pee-doo.

They did pick one oddball track for Duran ("Falling Down"), but The Beatles one is pretty standard fare. I think they make their choices based on their potential for soothing arrangements. They've also been known to do more than one volume on a given artist (Lady Gaga has 2), so who knows.

Oh My Love would be a good one and, as you mentioned above, Bless You. I love this tune.

Maybe on Volume 2 they will go for My Mummys Dead as an obscure track.

Macca will be on 'Later... with Jools Holland' on BBC2 at 10pm tonight. Suppose it will be available on iPlayer shortly afterwards for anyone who can't watch it or lives abroad and can get it.

An extended version of Later with Jools Holland with Paul as one of the guests is on BBC 2 this Friday night (25th October) at 11:05pm (running time 65 minutes compared to the 30 mins on Tuesday). Note that tonight's Jools show (22nd October) is live.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 It should be noted that Friday's "extended" version is actually a completely different show, recorded earlier in the evening, before they do the live version at 10. So whatever Paul performs in the live version, will also be in the extended version, but will be a different performance. I discovered this from Paloma Faith, who described the experience of her first appearance on the show, and how the only part of the live show that went into the extended version was her interview with Jools.

Never knew that. Don't watch Jools Holland. Thanks mja.
