Beatles’ album cover saves lives!
Traffic police in India have been saving lives thanks to the Beatles’ iconic Abbey Road album cover. They’ve been using it to warn pedestrians about the dangers of jaywalking, and it appears to be working.
Dozens of billboards bearing the famous Abbey Road album cover went up three months ago, with the slogan: “If they can, why can’t you?”

Offline Interesting. I never really understood her art, but I like her view on things, like the noises that sound like child labour and all those things. I find it interesting. Sometimes she’s just a little..too much though.

Thank you muchly, Egroeg! I was itching to post news bits here during my hiatus, and I think I’ll stick with that as my primary contribution to the board (along with the occasional LOL because I can’t resist :-> ). The conversation threads are entertaining and informative, but often too addictive for me. So I need to find a balance.
A few things:
* Paul is featured on Bloody Beetroots’ ‘Out of Sight’ – 30 second teaser at the link.
* Geoff Baker is hoping to include Paul as part of a record-breaking ensemble on Buddy Holly’s 77th birthday.
* Ringo’s publishing a children’s book based on Octupus’s Garden. (And of course, his ebook of photographs comes out tomorrow.)
* Madame Tussauds is opening a Beatles exhibit in DC. (And Ringo’s exhibit in LA starts tomorrow as well.)

Offline Thanks, Parlance! I really appreciate all your news contributions. I for one, wouldn’t be able to keep on top of it, so this is WONDERFUL. So many books…so little time! I just ordered FIVE Beatle books I haven’t read yet…that will keep me busy for a little while. Really want to see Ringo’s “Photograph”!
