Ringo's recording with brother-in-law Joe Walsh as part of an ensemble including Mick Jagger (pic at the link).

Also, an interesting interview with two guys who are conducting tours at Abbey Road.

Ringo's brother-in-law is Joe Walsh!? News to me!

I just want to play. I’d like to think I could work opposite Sinatra, B.B. King, the Beatles, or a polka band... - Jazz musician Rahsaan Roland Kirk, 1967

* Some more clues on the Joe Walsh project with Ringo et al.

* A great review of Good Ol Freda in the Hollywood Reporter.

* Paul announced his first-ever show in Poland. Edit: Austria's also been added... and it looks like they really are going with "Out There" as a tour title.

* Good Ol Freda will be screening in Canada at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.

Edit: The Examiner lists some more dates:

The film will be featured at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, N.C. on April 5, Dallas Film Festival April 6 and 7, Sarasota Film Festival April 8 and 9, the Cleveland International Film Festival April 11-13, including a special screening at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 11, and the Nashville Film Festival on April 18.

Found this earlier today. I think John would approve, tho seeing that picture is still hard and too frank, for me.

I don't know whether this has already been mentioned, but in case not. On BBC Radio 2 in the UK next Thursday, at 10pm, Johnnie Walker's Long-Players (which explores two major albums in each episode) is about Abbey Road and George's All Things Must Pass.

The picture is heartbreaking. It brings home one senseless loss of life among the many that were ended with a legally held weapon. I've got into trouble here before for saying this, but I do not understand a country that says the answer to its gun violence is more guns. The numbers speak for themselves. So many lives ended before their time.

If John and Yoko had had an armed bodyguard following a few paces behind, it is likely that Chapman would be the one in the ground, and John still alive, having produced another 30 years of great music, art and literature.

It is the same picture. I believe the album, her first after John's death (1982, I think), was called Season of Glass.

Paul has put two tour dates up on his Facebook so far:  Vienna and Warsaw...  not close enough Paul!  I hope he posts more soon...  I'm so anxious!!!  paul-mccartney

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

* Interview with Denny Seiwell on everything from Wings to Schoolhouse Rock. *g*

* Paul's not the only one releasing singles on Record Store Day. Ringo will also be reissuing 3 of his singles from the 70s.

* From the Examiner:

A Vox guitar used by Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison will be one of the items in Julien's Auctions upcoming Music Icons sale on May 18, the auction house announced Thursday.

Vox guitar or Vox Guitar amp?

from Paul's Facebook:

PaulMcCartney.com has had an exclusive look at next month's Q Magazine featuring Paul and The Beatles on the cover.

The magazine celebrates the release of 'Please, Please Me' and talks with Paul about the making of the iconic album. During the interview Paul recalls the 9 hour 45 minute recording session and how the band were not allowed in the control room at Abbey Road's Studio 2.

Paul also discusses getting into experimental music revealing how 'Yesterday' nearly ended up with an electronic backing!

The new issue of Q Magazine is published this April.

"And in the End the Love you take is equal to the Love you make"
"When I was a robber *Piano Chord* in Boston Place"
"Let's hope this turns out pretty darn good huh"
"Pete may be the best, but Ringo is the star"
Paul:"Don't be nervous John"
John:"I 'm not"

Since I don't believe I can rake together enough couch cushion change to bid on the guitar, I was thinking I wouldn't mind a copy of the auction catalog. Then I saw that the price was $100.00 a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

Yesterday was huge for Beatle news:

* ^^ Speaking of auctions, this autographed Sgt. Pepper album's going through the roof.

* The official Beatles site posted a mini-documentary on the making of Please Please Me for the 50th anniversary.

* Article and links to video of an interview with Mark Ronson on Paul's next album here, here and here.

* "A Deeper Shade of Blue," which has a Fireman track, will be showing in the US on March 28 only.

* Unconfirmed US tour dates for Paul and Brazilian dates will be announced Monday.

* Ringo's released a trailer for his live DVD.

* The White House retweeted Yoko's post image of John's blood-stained glasses.
