OfflineOn my blog, I post reflections on what the Beatles were doing, exactly 50 years ago. (They just arrived in Hamburg for the first time.) Check it out here.

OfflineI came across this article (via Hey Dullblog) titled "Two of Us", and it goes over the Lennon/McCartney partnership. The basic premise is that the break up was due more to their closeness; the fear of losing their own identity, rather than growing apart. A good read for my fellow Beatle historians.
(Oh and there's a mistake on the second page. Can you spot it?)

It's ok.
I'll let you tomorrow if no one spots it.
"Consider the moment Paul's brother Michael cited as an illustration of
his "innate sense of diplomacy." It was in Paris in 1963. The Beatles'
producer George Martin had arranged for them to record "She Loves You"
in German. When the band missed their studio appointment, Martin came
around to their suite at the George V hotel. They played slapstick and
dived under the tables to avoid him."

I'm also not sure about Paul playing piano Little Richard-style on the day he met John. I might have just forgotten, but I don't remember reading that before.

OfflineLeave it to the master to find a different mistake.
I saw, "In 1966, a far-out artist named Yoko Ono moved to London from New York
City. Paul not only met her first; he had helped create the India Gallery where she and Lennon met." It's Indica, yes?
I wasn't sure where to post this, but here'll do.

Geoff Baker, former PR to Linda and Paul McCartney and The Beatles, is to write a history of Beatles fans – using the fans' own words and calling it The Beatles Fanthology.
Baker, who worked at Apple Corps as press assistant under Derek Taylor on the actual Beatles Anthology projects, is asking Beatles fans around the globe to send him their stories, memories and moments about their love for the world's most-enduring rock band.
Baker will edit anecdotes and observations from the fans into the first full and illustrated biography of The Beatles fan phenomenon.

OfflinePfttt hahahahahahahaha!!
When I read Abbey Road Cover reversal I thought it was going to be the cover but having the photography showing John, Ringo, Paul and George and the photographer taking the pic, you know…. like from the back to the front.
I saw the pic and I was like "uh?.. a zebra??" and then I remember… LOL!!
Very clever.
This might belong in the books section, but never mind. Peter Doggett's You Never Give Me Your Money is on my Christmas list – the more I hear about it the more tempted I am.
Here's his blog, which has much food for thought. http://peterdoggettbeatles.blogspot.com/
The Oomska interview he links to is very good, once it moves beyond X Factor questioning. I think the interviewer is a bit pseudy, but PD's answers are always interesting.

About the Beatles having a group theraphy:
THERAPIST: OK, now perhaps you can each tell me what you'd like to tell the others.
JOHN: Tell Paul and his ******* family to **** off.
PAUL: Tell John to leave his wife at home.
JOHN: You ****!
GEORGE: Is it time to play my songs yet?
