Klaus is a great idea. We'd actually quite like a German name (Wolfgang, or Wolfie, is current favourite), but sadly we live in south Wales not Berlin. It wouldn't really work.

I *think* we've settled upon a name. There is a Beatles connection, but we'll keep it to ourselves until he arrives. We'll probably change our minds anyway.

Due date is 22 May. At the moment he's still known as Baby Ringo, but that's strictly a working title.

I went to a Ringo concert over the summer, and there was a family standing behind us in line with three small children, Lennon, Abbey, and Lucy. Lennon was the only boy, and since you're thinking on naming the child Ringo, I'm guessing you wouldnt want to name him Lucy.a-hard-days-night-paul-11

Wow! Seriously? That family could have not a shred of Beatles memorabilia and yet still, they've created a shrine at their home. Talk about a legacy. I wonder how the kids feel. :)

I think the Baby Ringo name is just a joke name just for now

Oh yeah, that's just the working title. We're keeping the real ones to ourselves for now (in case we change our minds, if nothing else).

I've only just picked up on this thread so let's begin with a massive CONGRATULATIONS to both of you!

I'm not going to offer any names but I will offer a tiny bit of advice – not that you've not already thought of it of course!!!!

1. Make sure whatever name(s) you choose don't have dodgly initials i.e. Peter Robert Alan Thomas!

2. Bear in mind how the name could be shortened and if you'd like it.

Incidentally, my son is Cameron John Paul (named after our two fathers – John and Paul) but quite frequently I'll calll out "Cameron John Paul George………." and I get "Yes, what do you want"! And people that know me think it was a Beatle thing and my wife's NEVER forgiven me for it either :-)

Thanks mjb! We factored in the dodgy initials risk – Ellie wants her maiden name to be a middle name, so the initials will end with MG. I think the only bad thing we could do with that is if we chose O as a first name, but even OMG wouldn't be so bad.

Well if he was just an MG you could call him Midget – get it?!

Not to make you feel unwelcome, but why won't it fit on that Impossible to Derail thread?
