Radiohead have said The Beatles are influence, specifically on OK Computer. If I knew that (and I can’t stand Radiohead), your friend certainly should.

My theory is that he’s trying to repress this knowledge and bringing it up only exposes the conflict in his Beatles-hating soul.

I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe.  This has been true for 2016 & 2017 Sig-Badge.png but I may have to get more specific in the future.

ewe2’s friend when answering a “truth” from a game of Truth-or-Dare

“My relationship to the music of The Beatles?” *squirms in seat* *sputters* “Well, you see, it’s complicated.” *looks down at feet* “I’m conflicted.”

I, um… sorta have really weird dreams about them. On a daily basis. And then wishes they were true. Especially George. *hides face*

EDIT: It’s probably because of all the one-shots and imagines I’ve been reading lately. Gosh another secret out, I’m addicted to reading them.

My (partial) Beatle secret is this site. Although all of my close friends know about it, loads of people I know more casually have no idea I spend all my time being a Beatlegeek. It’s quite funny when someone I know makes a throwaway comment on Facebook like “Just rediscovering Abbey Road – great album!” and I have to resist the urge to start telling them loads of random facts than only an obsessive would care about.

@Joe, is this still true now?

Just about everyone I come in contact with (even complete strangers sometimes; and people driving behind my car) learns of my Beatles obsession.

Yeah, I don’t really talk about this site (still less on Facebook, because I haven’t posted anything there since 2013). I’d say probably about five or six people in my 50-strong) office know that I do this. Most people I meet aren’t interested in the band or some hobby website, so there aren’t many shared points of reference. I can normally find something mutually interesting to talk about instead.

Outside of work I guess most people do know about this, but not the casual acquaintances. “I run a Beatles website!” isn’t normally the sort of thing that would impress most people. Also, I’m a massively antisocial misanthrope, if that wasn’t already obvious ;)
