In my city, the trash collection service is through trucks, and there are specific days when they go outside your house in a trash truck. And they either yell or use a handbell to announce they're coming, so everybody can take out their trash to be collected.
Well, one day I was listening to "Everybody's got something to hide except me and my monkey" and when the handbell started to ring, my Dad went out of his room into mine asking "M'ja… Is the trash truck coming?"
You can imagine how hard I laughed.

Haha that is funny!
I never knew that some places had announcements that the truck is coming. That would have been useful for all those times I forgot to take the bin down. Although I doubt I would be able to hear a bell over the loudness of a truck. They don't give you any chance where I live, which is probably the case in most places.

Actually sometimes I'm so mean that I play the song while I know it's trash truck day and my Dad goes out of the room like "Mhhh are they coming??" But since he's 80 (I was born late in his life) I don't do it too often.
And yes, you're right that the trash trucks make a lot of noise, that's why they send a guy ahead to ring the bell so everybody has time to take out the trash. Actually when I'm in class and that song is played in my CD I say "Traaash" and my students laugh..

Perhaps, but I don't really like the relentless Yoko bashing that some Beatles fans still insist upon. I think she looks OK in that pic, though it's obviously subjective (and I'm beginning to wish I hadn't said it; I've seen some shocking comments about her elsewhere on the web, and would rather avoid those sorts of judgements here).
