50 years ago The Beatles (Ringo-less, Pete Best behind the skins) entered EMI studios for the first time for a session between 7pm and 10pm and played 4 songs (Besame Mucho, Love Me Do, P.S. I Love You, Ask Me Why) that just about impressed George Martin (their humour being the clincher).

Strange to imagine the world at that time considering how much has changed in music since, strange to imagine 4 young men with battered amps entering EMI.
