Hey, listen, I hate to get all moralistic, but please don't be so tough on him – comments like that might really affect him in ways you don't realise.

I know of someone who was recently arrested and bailed because someone made a groundless accusation about him abusing kids. I wouldn't wish that on anyone who didn't deserve it.

In his book Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell puts forward the theory that it takes a person or group around (I think) 10,000 hours of work to become truly great. He cites The Beatles in Hamburg as an example. Studies have certainly suggested that tennis players, future chess grand masters etc can be hothoused from an early age to be among the best in their field.

I like the theory. The trouble with today's music industry is that fewer people have a chance to grow. Musicians are signed when they're young - around 16, 17, 18, and encouraged to have hits straight away, ...

The answer is no just because it's a completely different time. It's all about image now, back then people heard the Beatles before they saw them, now it seems like it's the other way around. Sure there were plenty of "teeny-boppers" who screamed at the very sight of the four boys, but the reason the Beatles are still as relevent today as they were back then is because of the music. I would have to say: no.

For (no) one, (tee hee- see what I did there? No? ...) I don't think the music that is considered popular or relevant today could ever be considered "classic." The lyrics are simply too juvenile and ineloquent and even too dirty to last. (Hmm, though I wonder if people thought this same thing initially with WDWDIITR?)
Second, the kind of talent required for this calibre of classic music seems like too much for musicians in this generation could ever achieve; they could imitate it, yes, but come ...

It's impossible to have another Beatles again. (Not even if we clone them. Check The boys from Brazil )

But what if there are 4 kids over there so talented, that they are able to create music that 40 years later would be hailed as classic? Is that possible?

I would say no for one reason : The evolution the Beatles had in a short span of time. I'm not saying that nobody else can evolve that way, ...
