OfflineAccording to an Evening Standard article in 1981 (as quoted in The Beatles: The Dream Is Over by Keith Badman) Ringo and Paul recorded separate tapes and everything was then mixed in George Martin's studios. Which would account for the credit to George Martin.

OfflineVon B – for the solo years I recommend John Blaney's Lennon & McCartney: Together Alone and Simon Leng's While My Guitar Gently Weeps: The Music Of George Harrison. They should furnish you with some good in-depth info on who did what on the post-Beatles songs. For a broader overview (not just the songs) the book Fab Four FAQ 2.0 is very good too.
