OfflineIf the Beatles had trimmed down the White album to 14 songs, which songs would you leave in and which songs would you cut out?
Mine would probably go something like this:
Back in the USSR
Dear Prudence
While my Guitar Gently Weeps
I'm So Tired
Blackbird
I Will
Julia
Helter Skelter
Yer Blues
Mother Nature's Son
Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey
Long, Long, Long
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Happiness is a Warm Gun

OfflineI mentioned in the "Overrated/Underrated" thread that this album could have been stellar instead of great had it been just a single album. The only problem I ever find with my stance on that is, I have a hard time excluding songs. The only ones I could absolutely do without are "Revolutiion 9" (not a song anyway, but rather an experimental piece) and "Good Night".
The list that sinco put together above (Welcome, BTW!) is terrific IMHO but there are so may other great songs on the album.
Besides, knowing me, I would have gone out and tried to obtain those tracks anyway by some other means (bootlegs, etc…) just because they were recorded by The Beatles!
That's how I feel today, anyway. Check back in about a week.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, Let it roll for all its worth.
