It's tied for third with Revolver. 2nd Abbey Road, 1st Sgt. Pepper.

Top five? Definitely. Top three? Probably not. I like Abbey Road, Revolver and Pepper too much. But some days it sneaks up past Pepper.

Definitely top five for me. I would think it's the same for most Beatles fans – it's the pre-"Rubber Soul" stuff that generally gets less appreciation.
I think the white album stuff is most often apprecited in context of the album as a whole – its lesser songs sounds better surrounded by the great ones. Which is probably why everybody's so fond of those "condense the White Album down to a single killer LP" polls.

1.) Your uncle is wrong.
2.) Your dad has a bad taste.
3.) The White Album is the most diverse album on the highest level ever made. It never gets boring (apart from "Revolution 9" obviously, which is a pure Yoko/John egomaniac-thing).
It has some of their sweetest, most beautiful ballads (Blackbird, Mother nature's son, I will, Julia), some of their funniest, most lighthearted songs (Obladi, Back in the USSR, Bungalow Bill, Honey pie, Savoy truffle) as well as some of their most melancholic stuff (While my guitar gently weeps, Dear prudence, Cry baby cry, Yer blues), definitely their hardest rockers (Helter Skelter, Everybody's got something to hide…, Why don't we do it in the road), one of their most complex songs (Happiness is a warm gun) and practically NO filler, as usual with The Beatles.
I listen to Abbey Road more frequently, but I always love to discover all the greatness of the White Album again and again.

Revolution 9 is good for me, since I love avant-garde music. But yeah, your dad is wrong.

I love it too! the only ones I don't like on there are Wild Honey Pie and of course Revolution 9.
I think those two just add to the complete do anything attitude of the White Album, they just decided to put a song on the first disc that's 40 seconds of Paul yelling Honey Pie, and on the second disc they decided to put a montage of…what exactly? No one really knows, but it is interesting.

"The Beatles" is also my favorite Beatles album (which, of course, is saying something). Apart from the songs everyone loves (While my guitar . . ., Blackbird, etc.), I LOVE Rocky Raccoon, Back in the USSR, Piggies, Don't Pass Me By, I Will, Everybody's got something . . ., Helter Skelter, Long, Long, Long, and for sure Savoy Truffle- song kicks ass! Oh and Good Night also rules.

What about "Why Don't We Do it in the Road?" GOSH Paul. You and your Indian monkeys.

John thought this was one of Paul's best songs.
I don't know if I have to agree with that but those vocals are AMAZING!
Sounds very "hoarse" too. Too bad the only lyrics are "Why don't we do it in the road?" (besides No one will be watching us). Very uncomfortable to listen to when you have family around
