OfflineThere's a contest with this at mojo4music.com – Towards A One-Disc White Album!
GEORGE MARTIN FAMOUSLY said The Beatles would have made an even
better single album. We’ve resolved to test that idea – and there’s a
prize (namely, a framed, original proof of MOJO’s White Album magazine
cover) for what judges think is the best 15-tracker. Have a look at some
of our efforts – and those of some of our favourite Beatle-obsessed
artists – and have a go yourself in the comment area.

OfflineI changed my mind. I went side A electric, side B acoustic… here's my pick:
A 1 – Revolution (single version)
A 2 – Helter Skelter
A 3 – Not Guilty (anthology version)
A 4 – Back In The USSR
A 5 – Happiness Is A Warm Gun
A 6 – I'm So Tired (anthology version)
A 7 – Yer Blues
B 1 – Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da (anthology version)
B 2 – Piggies (anthology version)
B 3 – Rocky Racoon
B 4 – Blackbird (anthology version)
B 5 – While My Guitar Gently Weeps (anthology version)
B 6 – I Will (anthology version)
B 7 – Cry Baby Cry (anthology version)
I went with mostly anthology cuts on the b side to give it more of a loose feel. I think it flows real nice!

OfflineThis is almost an impossible question because I've grown to love nearly every song on the album, but here goes:
1) Birthday
2) Dear Prudence
3) Honey Pie
4) Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey
5) While My Guitar Gently Weeps
6) Mother Nature's Son
7) Happiness Is A Warm Gun
8) Blackbird
9) Martha My Dear
10) I'm So Tired
11) Long, Long, Long
12) Revolution 1
13) Don't Pass Me By
14) Why Don't We Do It In The Road?
Then they would have to release, as Ringo suggested, The Whiter Album.

Sorry if this is unrelated, but yeeeeeeeesh, Good Night. What a horrible vocal from Ringo. Should've been John with his guitar. Also, what Ringo said at the end was unnecessary and unappreciated.
My- seems to me you have a lot more hate for the band than love.
"Unappreciated" is obviously your own opinion… I quite like the humility of it all. Perhaps not one of their greatest, but you can definitely see the diversity in John's writing ability.
And that's good enough for me!

Plus it's Ringo! I mean what could he possibly do wrong?
Yeah, I love Ringo – no matter he does, he's Ringo bloody Starr! He isn't the greatest singer in the world, but he's better than Bob Dylan and that man's a legend too. Although, I must say, Good Night is my least favourite Beatles song (apart from Revolution 9). I still like it though.

The point was to pick 14 songs Marcelo, Where did you get 17 from? How can you dislike so many songs from The White album? Maybe a U2 forum would better suit you!!
Damn! They told me "Maybe a Beatles forum suit you" back there!
LOL!! I was told the same thing.
Ok, here's my list. I'm used to listening the whole White Album, but now I find myself skipping some songs. So here it is, including the rule of 1 Harrison/ 1 Starr.
1. Back in the U.S.S.R
2. Dear Prudence
3. Glass Onion
4. While my Guitar Gently Weeps. Not because there must be a George song, but it's one of George's best. Awesome, awesome song.
5. Happiness is a warm gun.
6. Martha my Dear. (Personal reasons. My niece's name is Martha. She was named after her grandmother, but still, we sing her that song)
7. BlackBird
8. Don't pass me by. Ringo's song. And I don't know why, but I remember my late Mom while singing the song. And it's Ringo!!
9. Julia
10. Mother's Nature son.
11. Everybody's got something to hide but me and my monkey. (I need the handbell)
12. Sexy Sadie
13. Helter Skelter
14. Number Nine.
Man that was HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I left out some songs I truly like…. but I can say the ones I left out without thinking twice:
Ob-la-di Ob-la-da. Please don't kill me, but I'm not fan of that song.
Wild Honey Pie.
Piggies.
Rocky Racoon.
Why don't we do it in the road?, I mean it's ok.. but I don't like people repeating me things once and all over. Not even Macca.
Good Night. I don't hate the song perse. I hate the fact that it's was on Mexican TV, and the cover was.. well… horrible. That ruined it for me. Everytime I listen to it I'm like "Oh God.. that Chavo song".

I don't recognise the song at all. The tune seems different and it's in Spanish. I don't like it. I guess translating a song takes some skill though, to make it rhyme in another language.

You're right, the rhythm in this song is a bit different from the original, but it's the same song. I'm not sure if credit was given to the Beatles, but this is a known fact in Mexico. I know Wikipedia isn't that reliable but here's the info about it
"A later cover version appeared in the Mexican TV '70s show El Chavo
del Ocho, on the Acapulco special sung in Spanish by Chespirito and titled "Buenas noches, vecindad"
(literally, "Good night, neighborhood")."
And here's a blog in Spanish talking about it.

Now this is not surprising. Beatlemania in Mexico was (and still is) HUGE!

This is completely unrelated but I thought I'd throw it out there: I've noticed that there seems to be a lot of Beatle fans in Argentina. I've never understood why they were so big there (I know they were big everywhere [except the Philippines] but they seem to be bigger there compared to other non-English speaking countires). I think there is at least one person on this forum from Argentina – do you know why?

OfflineThis is a really hard. If it would been a 14-track LP with the official releases it would be in my opinion like this:
Side One
1) Back In The U.S.S.R.
2) Dear Prudence
3) Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
4) While My Guitar Gently Weeps
5) Happiness Is A Warm Gun
6) I'm So Tired
7) Don't Pass Me By
Side Two
1) Birthday
2) Yer Blues
3) Helter Skelter
4) Sexy Sadie
5) Savoy Truffle
6) Cry Baby Cry
7) Revolution 1
But, if i include the outtakes, singles, unreleased songs the order will change like this:
SIDE ONE:
1) Not Guilty
2) Revolution
3) Back In The U.S.S.R.
4) While My Guitar Gently Weeps
5) Happiness Is A Warm Gun
6) Yer Blues
7) Helter Skelter
SIDE TWO:
8) Dear Prudence
9) Cry Baby Cry
10) Mother Nature's Son
11) I Will
12) Julia
13) I'm So Tired
14) What's The New Mary Jane
Well i loved the double album, but i may put the rest out of the songs in their continuation: The Whiter Album as Ringo said it on Anthology

Ok maybe Marcelo should answer this. but I'll give it a try.
I guess that's because there's a huge influence of Europe in Argentina. I'm not that sure, but some of them are Italian immigrants. (that's why you have names like Messi, Kempes, etc). So the rock expanded there more quickly than in other countries in Latinoamerica. Actually the greatest rock band in Spanish language is Soda Stereo, from Argentina.
I was aware since a child that the Beatles are big there because Mafalda, the main character from one of the most popular comic strip in the world, is Argentine and a huge Beatle fan.
http://escarabeatle.blogspot.c…..atles.html
And maybe I'm wrong, but the countries I have seen the Beatles are huge are Argentina, Peru and Mexico. Actually there's a guy in Mexico, Manuel Guerrero that knows about the Beatles a lot. There's a story that one day in a tour Paul did in Mexico, he was asked "What did you do on this day?" and Paul said "I dunno… Manuel (who was in the press conference) What happened that day?" and Manuel just asked "In the morning.. or in the afternoon?" He has a radio show called La Hora de los Beatles.
