  1. It's All Too Much – YEP.

Runners-up:

It's All Too Much

?

It's so awesome, it needs two spots.

I hate the song. Way too cheery and long.

Any song with the line “All the world's a birthday cake” can be considered cheery.

Unless, of course, the next line is “I'm gonna shove the candles up your…”

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Ha, the only thing I dislike about the topic of this forum is that you can't do this:

10.

9.

8.

7.

6.

5.

4. “Run For Your Life

3. “Mr. Moonlight”

2. “Revolution 9

1. Everything else.

There, Zig. Ya happy?

You named the song that shall remain unnamed. Baby steps, MMM, baby steps.

Nicely done.

EDIT: You changed it – So much for progress.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Impressive! I'll call off the intervention.

Love your sense of humor.

It isn't out of tune, it's an experiment with dissonance. I like the way Paul shifts notes, as if trying to find the perfect “spark” with George's voice.

1.) Please also work on your quotation. Mark and delete the parts of older posts you're not referring to.

2.) While your theory fits the legendary Beatles-spirit I think I disagree here. You can hear many vocal experiments, also with dissonances (Rain is a great example!!), but this one is simply out of tune. The high notes are just too high for Paul (listen how he's DYING there!), or the lyrics are hard to sing on the high notes (any singer will know what I mean), and the ones in the middle are not always perfect.

As I said, check out the live version to listen to the song as it was intended.

MrBig, you need to cheer up a little. How is anything TOO cheery? a-hard-days-night-ringo-7 And yes, it's so good, it's both in my top ten and in the honorable mentions. a-hard-days-night-george-9

I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

  • “She's just the girl for me and I want all the world to see we've met”
  • “But as it is, I'll dream of her tonight”
  • “Other girls were never quite like this”
  • “Falling, yes I am fallin', and she keeps callin' me back again”
  • “Mmm, mm, mm, da-da-da.”

That's how I reckoned that one out. a-hard-days-night-george-9

1. Note that I did mark and delete the parts of the post I wasn't using.

2. If the Revolver version wasn't the “intended” version, then how come it's on the disc?

1. I appreciate that!

2. Well, obviously they thought it was ok… It still sounds VERY strained. I think what you mean about Paul “shifting notes” is at the end? Yeah, that part is cool, but I meant before that all over the song.

Did you check out the live version?

I loved the CFG version, but I like the Revolver version a bit better, considering it was all of the beatles. Nonetheless, you are right, the harmonies are a little better.

Why does paulsbass argue with people so often on the forum?

Why asking “the forum” instead of me?!

Why asking anyway?

Btw, the answer to your question is: Because there are only people here and nothing else to argue with.

What's the point of a forum if no discussion is allowed to take place, iyo?

Btw, please re-read the thread and notice that I didn't start the arguing.

Hey Matt, don't get that started again! Look in the mirror to see someone who REALLY loves to spread his opinion…

I never said you started it. I just said you argue a lot. We can discuss anything as long as we keep it friendly and our voices down. Even though you didn't start it, you also didn't end it. I ask because I'm curious. That is all. Like I said, we don't need to argue. Give Peace A Chance .

Then we agree that it would've been better and nicer and more effective to ask me the question.
