I can play a few songs all the way through, but none really suit my voice so I choose to just play and hum. (Haha). I've never really tried to cover any songs except I'm Looking Through You and I Should Have Known Better, but I didn't record them…

Does anyone else find the vocals on The Beatles' songs very high? I can barely sing along to many of them because they're at least an octave too high for me. The chorus of She Loves You springs to mind, but there are others.

I don't have problems singing along, but I'm also a fourteen year old girl, so my voice is probably a bit higher than yours is.

It is hard for me to sing as well. I don't sing the high notes. That helps me when I sing a Beatle song with my students. The other day we practiced with "All I've got to do" the line of "IIIII'll be there" my class and I just made a pause and continued.

I'm not a very good singer, but I can reach almost all of the notes in all the songs. All the songs are pretty high pitched though…. The one song that I absolutely cannot sing is Oh! Darling… God, it just kills your voice!

Most men are baritones of some kind. A good deal of the Beatles' songs lie in the higher tenor range, especially those sung by Paul and some of John's higher ones. The average male singer, if untrained, is unlikely to be able to sing past G above middle C (G4), which is the note in the chorus of She Loves You on the first "yeah." Paul, as a tenor, writes songs which often take him up to the tenor high C (C5) or even above in some rare cases. Matching the Beatles note-for-note without a naturally high voice, or training, is no mean feat.

And, Starrison McLennon and I have recently discovered our harmonising abilities on songs such as She Loves You, I Want to Hold Your Hand, and Help!

Oops, forgot about the covers I recorded for Facebook. Here's my cover of Because and here's my cover of Yesterday (notice the recording day).

Here's my cover of Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End. I basically recorded four times, so yes, I am singing with myself. In the background, you can hear The London Symphony Orchestra's cover.

Emil, sorry in advance but now it's time to be harsh and honest.

This was really horrible. And terrible.a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

1) NOBODY is capable of singing well while lying down in the bed, so this makes your singing even worse, PLUS it's not very nice or entertaining to look at you lying in bed with your headphones on, looking concentrated and listening to something we can't hear.a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

2) Even if you were standing I guess it wouldn't sound much better. Sorry to bring this to you, but you don't come even CLOSE to the original melody.Sounds like you never tried singing before. Ever.paul-mccartney

3) You might think about the fact that we don't hear the London Symphony Orchestra in the headphones like you do. YOU hear a lot of orchestra and a little bit of yourself. We hear very little from the orchestra and a LOT from you! And it doesn't sound good. At all.

On "While my guitar gently weeps" we don't hear any music AT ALL, just your own weeping. Did you watch your videos yourself?

These are no covers, these are crimes.blue-meanie

Please do yourself a favour and remove them as quickly as possible to save us the pain and yourself the shame. And I mean not just from the forum but from the internet.

It's nice to have enthusiasm, and I guess it took some courage to load up this stuff, and I guess you really didn't know how bad it was (I still guess you were suspecting it might not be TOTALLY sensational).

Sorry again, but singing is not (yet) for you. Join a choir, get some training and advice and try again in five years.

apple01

PS:

Get rid of all 22 "friends" who "liked" this on facebook. They are not your friends, they just make fun of you (although I don't understand what they say….)

PPS:

Maybe if you can't get famous, you can get INfamous on the internet! I honestly think your performance is bad enough and you take it seriously enough to make it look funny and disturbing and fascinating enough like a traffic accident. People LOVE to watch traffic accidents.

What you need are spectacular titles like "worst Beatles cover ever" or "worst Beatles singer ever". Believe me, once people start sharing it, it might go through the roof!

Nobody commented on this, which is a shame!

Nice work, as well on guitar as on drums!! (in both bands you seem to be the best musician on stage, although the She said drummer is also not bad!)

The Walrus singer is hilarious!

I apologise for not having posted on the Bible for a while, but I have been doing many things even though it's summer holidays. Including this cover of "I've Just Seen a Face":

I'll probably do more covers soon!

Okay so a question for you guys.

I have been playing with the same 3 guys for a little while now.  We started by just jamming together and now we have pretty much started playing Beatles covers exclusively, and we kind of want to maybe play a show.  Now, none of us have ever played a live show, and we aren't sure where we stand as far as a band goes.  So could someone suggest a Beatles song to cover and then I'll post it?  Normally I think we would be a little more confident, but we hit a few speed bumps…

A) We all love The Beatles to death and don't want to do them some horrible injustice (see Paulbass's comments above, not that we sound remotely like those covers).

B) Beatles covers are very tricky in my mind, and are held to a higher standard by Beatles fans.

So what would anyone suggest?  We have done a lot of "Let It Be" due to the back to basics approach of it all.  But I want to do something someone suggests and see where we stack up.  We could learn anything pretty quickly, and have the means to do so.  Only hang up is no 12-string electric, so that holds up some HDN songs, but otherwise I think we could figure a lot out.  Any suggestions/comments/concerns would be greatly appreciated :)
