Maggie Mae (the first time I listened to this on Let it Be, I thought “What the heck” because, of course, it comes after Let it Be, one of the greatest songs the Beatles made)

I Will

I agree with 2 of these……but I really like ‘I Will ‘, ‘Helter Skelter ‘…… and ‘Wait ‘ ain’t that bad. Regarding ‘Maggie Mae ‘ an excuse to indulge themselves and bring to the world a sung, hard scouse accent……….Probably a mistake.

I like Maggie Mae , i find it to be fun and at 48 seconds it comes and goes quickly (as it should).

For fans of it there is a Wild Honey Pie fan club on here, i think there are 6 signed up so far (it’s buried in a thread somewhere).

I don’t see why everybody hates Yellow Submarine ….personally I think it was a clever little joke! By producing all these “mature” and more creative songs and then throw in a little tune reminiscent of their younger days was a stroke of genius!

I’m not the only one who likes Yellow Submarine !!!!!

He’s not alone. That song doesn’t have a lot of fans on this board.

It bores me greatly. Don’t like any version, although if I had to listen to one, it’d be the Let It Be  version. (Yes, I know, Paul hated it, but it just sounds better)

YouWontSeeMe, I wouldn’t say “there’s something wrong with you”. You seem to be very aggressive, and you don’t seem to be considering other people’s opinions. Just using 5 posts saying it’s amazing doesn’t add anything. Why is it amazing? (Oh, and do you need to some help figuring out how to quote posts?)

There’s nothing wrong with him just because that is his opinion. Please be respectful of other people and their views.

Aside from the stripped Anthology take I’ve never cared for TLAWR; Spector’s is too overproduced with the 456 instruments he added and the 45,975 people in the choir (well thats what it all sounds like) and the Let It Be Naked version (how it bugs me that the video promo take is on Naked and the naked version is on Anthology) has a solo from Billy Preston which is horrible – it sounds weak, empty and cheap, like its being played on one of those kid toys you get in rubbish shops.

I’m a big fan of this song……….. I didn’t want the ‘Let it Be album’ at the time……..Too many other great groups bringing stuff out meant that I couldn’t afford it right away. I went to France with my school’s football team and it was a B side of a French release and I bought that just to get TLAWR.

Opinions are funny aren’t they. I’d rate this in the top ten of Paul’s entire body of work

…………..I feel another thread coming….

Right here.  Love it.  Where can I join?

That. I used to hate Wild Honey Pie but it has grown on me and I love it now. It’s mad!

As for The Long And Winding Road . Have always liked that one. But I ONLY like the version that ended up on Let it be. I love the 456 instruments he added. Not too crazy about the choir though. Yes, opinions are funny. And great, as long as you stay respectful towards others.

Yes, it’s the choir that loses me.

I can’t find Ahhh Girl’s post, but if you go to Google, type in your search terms along with site:beatlesbible.com/forum you should be able to find the exact post.

I think this is the WHP conversation you are trying to find

https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..bum-songs/

Do you use ctrl+f to search within pages? I find that command very handy.

I sneaked a peak at your profile. That would make someone do a double take.

The song that I’ve never liked: What Goes On .  I was ten years old when Rubber Soul was released and got the album when it was brand new. It was easy to skip the first track on the B-side.
