I think the bassline in Dear Prudence is actually very good, and in Yellow Submarine .

 The Beatles;

 Paul John George Ringo and me .. Shannon!

Favourite Beatle;

James Paul McCartney.

Aside from the usual suspects, Hey Bulldog , Taxman , Dear Prudence , Something etc.. I really like the bass in Cry, Baby, Cry and Glass Onion .They're surprisingly complex

Surprised nobody mentioned “While My Guitar Gently Weeps “, fantastic bassline. “Good Morning,Good Morning” also deserves a shout for it's pummelling runs.paul-mccartney

I think we now have 2 of these bassline threads going but this is the original?

Yeah, but this one is “Beatle” bassline, not “McCartney”!

So, anybody who wants to vote for “Old Brown Shoe ” or “Helter Skelter ” or one of the other half-dozen non-Paul bass parts can do so right here.

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

A prize to whoever can name all the basslines not played by Paul.

Every single bassline in the history of every single song of all time that wasn't played by Paul McCartney ? I'm gonna be here all day… a-hard-days-night-george-10

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

I remember reading that George played the bass on a song because John was ill and Paul was playing the piano on the first track of a song. I can't find which one it was, but accidentally found that George played bass on All Together Now too.

I told her I didn’t

Oh yes, I feel like a troll. But is it just me, or do I find Paul's mouth bass in I Will strangely appealing?
