"Good Night" is a beautiful dreamy song, i love the Disney-ish feeling, perfectly fits in any Disney film. The kind of song Michael Jackson would love sing. Some may consider a little sugarcoating, but for me it's just beautiful, but it doesn´t get that much praise. But even when i love it, i would prefer to be sung by Paul it fits his style.

Well i think we should put aside the underrated ones for the fans and no fans, ´cause they are different cases.

For no fans there are plenty of songs, Here,There and Everywhere, Blue Jay Way,While My Guitar Gently Weeps, etc.

For me A Day in The Life, is very underrated even for fans, not for critics who always put it as a masterpiece, and they're right

is such a masterpiece, beautiful song.I love the guitar intro and the sad tone of John´s Lennon voice.

I agree with Parlance that if a song has a prominent role in a movie, cartoon, etc..., it's hard to picture it as under-rated.

Here's an under-rated song, if only because it never comes up in any discussion. It's neither good nor bad, just filler presumably.

The Mamas and Papas, however, took the song to another level, and though the song still isn't great, it's better than the Beatles' version; in fact, IMO, it's probably the only Beatle song that sounds better in its cover version than in its original incarnation.

Watching the BBC's re-recording of Please Please Me at the moment. Have been reminded of There's a Place. Everyone talks about the end of their straight boy-meets-girl love songs coming in 1965, with songs like The Word. They binned the straight boy-meets-girl love songs with this one, the first song recorded for their first album, and a song that - if you look at the lyrics - gave hints at where they were to go. "And it's my mind, and there's no time, when I'm alone..."!

My entire perception of what's underrated is thrown off because I learned most of the songs through Revolver via the cartoon. So to my inner 8-year-old, if there was an episode and animation for a sing-along, there must have been some agreed-upon merit to the song. To this day, it surprises me to hear people slag certain songs as subpar. I have some I like more than others, of course, but usually I envision a storyline or at least a visual concept, increasing the song's appeal.

Few examples: I've just seen a face, there's a place, Love you to (actually most of George's songs except for Here comes the sun and Something.), I'll Follow The Sun (this is really one of my favourites), Things we said today, Tell me what you see, etc.

100% agree. Even by Beatle standards, those harmonies are great.

And as an 11 year old, that super-electric electric guitar solo had me pining for an electric guitar.... (I tried to make my acoustic guitar sound electric by plucking way down by the bridge. No go.)
