OfflineI've heard he's hated some songs, not LSD though, weird.
I guess I would hate some of my songs to if I have to sing them like 30 times in one sitting, that might ruin them.

OfflineThe reason The Beatles got as big as they did is that even the ones that weren't hits (i.e. singles) were good. There were no "throwaways" to speak of, irregardless of what John has said in retrospect. He was a bit self-trashing at times. I don't think any Beatles songs are really underrated. Most knowledgable people about their music will tell you even songs that get lesser exposure are very good. It's just some are played more (again, mainly singles). In My Life opened the Anthology documentary. That's a high rating, in my book. Beatles songs are good because they are by The Beatles but they can't all be hit singles that get just as much airplay as the ones that are hits, but I don't agree that that makes them underrated.

John hates a lot of his songs. Notably Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
Are you sure? Can you prove this with documents?
I like "I Should Have Known Better" a lot. And that's totally unrelated to the thread, beacause I don't care about ratings, rates, etc.
In fact I don't care about other people's opinion at all.

I heard Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds last night. It's abysmal, you know? The track is just terrible. I mean, it is a great track, a great song, but it isn't a great track because it wasn't made right. You know what I mean? I feel I could remake every fucking one of them better. But that's the artistic trip, isn't it? That it why you keep going, always trying to make that next one the best. – John Lennon, 'All We Are Saying', David Sherif (?). OfflineInteresting Big. But isn't it possible that the artist can hate a masterpiece he created?
So I think that like Marcelo, I don't care about John's opinion. To me, LSD is one of the most beautiful songs ever.

OfflinePaulrus, THANK YOU! You just stole those songs out of my typing fingers!
Another song I think is underrated is "I'm Down." Explain exactly WHY it wasn't number one. My theory is that people didn't see the Shea vids and witness Johns "elbow bits." That made me nearly fall down the first time I saw. To this day, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v….._g10djC0pE is my favorite YouTube video ever.

Ok, don't you think that that quote actually says that John didn't like the way it was recorded, arranged or performed? That's my opinion.

Blunt people are awesome.
Please don't take this kind of statements seriously…
Actually, I LOVE I'm Down. I forgot to mention it, ahaha. They recorded I'm Down, Yesterday and I've Just Seen a Face all on the same day. How's that for variety?
I like the live version of it at Shea Stadium better than the studio version, I think, because of how energetic it is (and of course John's elbow playing)

OfflineMy brother Polythene Dan(not his real name) is reading over my shoulder, and when he read the part about how Paulrus LOVES "I'm Down," he said, "Yes! Go Paulrus!" Then, he said (after reading the rest of the post), "High five! Go elbow solo!"
"Elbow solo" is the term our family uses to describe John's elbow playing.

I don't know. I was pretty wowed the first time, but now I can cue the tape loops.

The "I'm Down" Shea video! I couldn't agree more tbh! Definitely one of my favourite videos and that song is amazingly underrated.
I think Hey Bulldog is another song that you don't hear about very often that I absolutely love.
Also, has anyone ever heard Junk off of the third Anthology? I recently heard that for the first time. Paul later released it on his debut solo album, but why The Beatles never released it I do not know. It's beautiful. It gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it, even if it is just a badly recorded demo.
I know this hasn't had any posts for a while but thought I'd give a little contribution.
