Does anyone know where I can find "Twist And Shout (Take 2)"? And another question, has anyone heard it?

My favourite song is 'Stairway to Heaven' by Motley Crue on their 1876 album 'Yellow Submarine'.

OK, that was really annoying! :) Next time you can just say "no!"

One day, a tape-op got a tape on backwards, he went to play it, and it was all "Neeeradno-undowarrroom" and it was "Wow! Sounds Indian!" -- Paul McCartney

Wait, is that actually it? I've scrolled past this video many times before...but it says 'BBC Take II'.

My favourite song is 'Stairway to Heaven' by Motley Crue on their 1876 album 'Yellow Submarine'.

I would say that that is exactly what it says on the tin, one of the myriad versions they did for BBC Radio. While large chunks of the February 11 recording session for Please Please Me have leaked, so far as I'm aware the second take of Twist And Shout is yet to emerge. You can tell this isn't it simply by looking at George Martin's description, "I did try a second take... but John's voice had gone." Nothing about the version posted suggests John was struggling to sing it.

I stand corrected me being the lazy person I am saw "Twist And Shout" and "Take 2" and assumed it was the studio version although I was wondering why I could hear John, shouldn't he be hoarse? a-hard-days-night-george-10

I recall reading that they tried a second take but John was burnt out so it wasn't finished. Could be wrong, though.

That's correct, early on into the 2nd take they realized John's voice was shot so they abandoned it, especially because the first take was so shit-hot.

Open to question. In the mythology they abandon the 2nd take quite clearly. However, in The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions, Mark Lewisohn says, "They did two, and the second one was complete, not a false start or a breakdown."

Didn't mean to imply abandon meant they stopped performing halfway through. I meant they didn't consider it further because the first take was so good.
