Connected?

She’s Leaving Home is the story of a girl leaving her house and the parent/s are worried?

Maybe in Ticket To Ride it’s her brother’s view on it

Favourite band: The Beatles
Favourite song: Yesterday
Favourite album: Rubber Soul
Favourite member: Paul McCartney

I always thought of Ticket To Ride as a point of view of her live-in spouse, or husband.  Seeing as it was written by John (primarily) and he usually wrote from an his point of view.  Paul (primarily) wrote She’s Leaving Home , which is more of a story about someone.  I believe it was about the stories he was seeing a lot of in the papers about girls leaving home.

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Interesting piece of trivia about TTR: It can be heard on the pink floyd songs eclipse. This is because the violin tape of it was reused.

"White Album - My joint-fave Beatles album along with Revolver. They show the two sides of Beatles. Revolver's very controlled - even though it's also very innovative. The White Album's playful and almost ramshackle. It's like a scrapbook kept by a genius. Fantastic stuff."

Yeah I know, that’s superweird.

I personally never thought there was a connection between TTR and SLH.

Nothing to support it, really. I don’t really go for this ”conspiring” (that’s not the exact word I want, but I can’t think straight). I like facts. Facts that have a bulk of proven evidence behind them.

Not to say you’re wrong, but I think it unlikely that the two are connected in any way besides them both being by the same band.

Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

This actually sounds like the inspiration for a thread devoted to Beatles songs that “could” be related if we fantasized about it a bit!

THEORY: The girl who left home in “She’s Leaving Home ” was named Rita, and later became a traffic warden through her connections with “the man from the motor trade”.

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Another theory: Rita’s sad parents finally had the light bulb go on over their heads, and they dolefully started singing “Fun is the one thing that money can’t buy,” after hearing the Beatles’ song “Can’t Buy Me Love ” on the radio.

Or to go on a more sadistic route, the guy was deeply jealous at the girl being elsewhere, at times hanging around with other guys (No Reply ) and talking to others (You Can’t Do That ), and so wasn’t happy that she was never around (Ticket To Ride ), eventually she did leave having to Run For Her Life, meeting a man at a motor trade so they could speed off, grabbing the bagging and getting in the Limousine (You Never Give Me Your Money ).
